Sometimes we make prayer more complicated than it needs to be.
Prayer is simply an ongoing conversation with a God who loves you.
Paul tells us to be devoted to prayer.
Not just to pray when there is a crisis.
When we need an answer.
Or when we’ve run out of options.
He wrote in Colossians 4:2, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (NIV)
Notice what Paul connects to prayer: being watchful and thankful.
Watch for what God is doing.
Thank Him for what He has already done.
And keep talking to Him while you wait for what He will do next.
You don’t have to have the perfect words.
Just stay in the conversation.
Prayer isn’t about saying the right words.
Prayer is being connected to the One who loves you ridiculously every day.
Prayer is our first response, not our last resort.
Father, teach me to make prayer part of the rhythm of my life. Help me notice what You are doing, thank You for Your faithfulness, and keep talking to You about everything. In Jesus Powerful Name, Amen.
