Whatever You Do

We tend to separate life into categories.
Sacred things and ordinary things.

Church.
Prayer.
Bible study.
Ministry.

And then there is everything else.

Work.
Laundry.
Meetings.
Driving kids around.
Making dinner.
Answering emails.
Caring for someone you love.

But Paul gives us a bigger vision.

He wrote in Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus…” (NIV)

That means whatever we do, we do it in the identity of who we are in Jesus and with the authority of the One who created the Universe and redeemed it.

Following Jesus isn’t something we add to our lives.
He becomes the reason behind how we live it.

There may be ordinary tasks in a relationship with God
but there are no meaningless ones.

When you do ordinary things with Jesus,
ordinary things become holy ground.

When your life belongs to Jesus,
all your ordinary moments become acts of worship.

Lord Jesus, I give You the ordinary parts of my day. Help me honor You in my words, my work, my relationships and everything I do. In Your Powerful Name, Amen.
