Paul writes in Colossians 3:3, “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” (NIV)
There is something incredibly comforting about the word “hidden.”
Specifically, hidden with Christ.
Safe.
Secure.
Covered.
Held.
Your identity isn’t hanging on whether everyone approves of you today.
Your future isn’t dependent on having everything figured out.
Your security isn’t found in how well you can hold everything together.
Your life is held by Jesus.
We spend so much energy trying to create security for ourselves
when God is inviting us to rest in the security we already have in Him.
You belong to Jesus.
And what belongs to Jesus is held securely by Him.
You don’t have to hold everything together
when you are being held by your Savior.
Jesus, thank You that my life is secure in You. Help me release my need to control everything and rest in knowing that You are holding me. In Your Powerful Name, Amen.
