When life feels as if it is falling apart,
it is easy to believe that everything depends on us holding it together.
We try to manage every detail.
Fix every problem.
Anticipate every outcome.
Carry every person we love.
But Colossians reminds us that Jesus is not only present in creation,
He is Lord over it all.
Colossians 1:16–17 tells us, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” (NIV)
Everything was created through Him and for Him.
Everything is held together by Him.
That includes the parts of your life that feel uncertain.
You may not know how everything will work out,
but you can trust the One who holds everything together.
Friend, you are not meant to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders.
You don’t have to control everything and everybody.
You were never meant to.
Trust fully in the One who can.
Jesus, I release the things I have been trying to control. Thank You for holding me and every part of my life securely in Your hands. Help me trust You today. In Your Powerful Name, Amen.
