Your Promised Land

Your promised land is right before you.

It is where you are, transformed by God’s transforming love:

It is your heart and mind transformed by God’s love.

It is your relationships transformed by God’s love.

It is your workplace transformed by God’s love.

It is your parenting transformed by God’s love.

It is you – transformed by God’s love and God using you to transform your surroundings.

“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Genesis 28:15 (NIV)

Ask God to give you His vision for your life.

See it through His eyes.

Taste the bounty you will cultivate.

Feel the joy of living it.

Be filled to the brim with the love of God and then let it overflow to everyone around you.

This is your promised land.

You don’t have to wait for it, begin to live in it today.

A Challenge to Let Go

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Philippians 3:12 NIV

Today, I want to challenge you to let go of some stuff and take hold of some stuff:

My friend, let go of trying to earn God’s love.

Take hold tightly to God’s grace.

Let go of your fear of failure.

Take hold of your faith in Jesus.

Let go of perfectionism.

Take hold of the vision Jesus has for your life.

Let go of habits that sabotage your growth.

Take hold of the hope of love’s transformation.

Let go of trying to control everything.

Take hold of trusting Jesus with it all.

Jesus doesn’t give up or let up and loves you so much that He will continually press you to press on.

“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:12 ‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Yesterday is gone, take hold of that which Christ Jesus has taken hold of you today.

God’s Purpose For Your Life

“We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but GOD’s purpose prevails.” ‭

PROVERBS 19:21 MSG

God’s purpose for your life is that He would have an unhindered relationship with you through Jesus.

His plan for your life is for His love to restore you completely into who He created you to be.

This life is not about doing all the right things, it is about letting Jesus grow the right things in you.

The wonderful thing about being in a relationship with God is that while our plans don’t always work out, God will always work His purpose into them.

God loves you whether or not your plans fail or succeed.

He loves you.

You Have It

“The perceptive find wisdom in their own front yard; fools look for it everywhere but right here.”  Proverbs 17:24 MSG

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ”.    Ephesians 1:3 NIV

In Christ, God has already given you what you need to fulfill His call for your life and it starts in your own front yard.

Are you looking everywhere but “right here” for what you should do today?

A better question is “how should you live today”?

The answers you are seeking are not found by looking at others’ lives or comparing yourself to them. They are not discovered by wishing away your life or wanting someone else’s.

This is your life.  If you want to change it, change it.

If you want to change the dynamic in your home, change it.

If you want to learn something new, study it.

God will not call you to live someone else’s life,  He will call you to fully live yours.

You don’t need more stuff, you need a clear vision.

Ask Jesus to open your eyes to your own “front yard” and wisdom He has placed there to live the life He has created you to live.

What is holding you back from fully living your life?

What has Jesus put right in front of you?

What do you need from Him to do it today?

Your Front Yard

“I am the Lordʼs servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:38‬ ‭NIV‬‬
How many times have you wished that the Lord would show up and just tell you what was about to happen? You think that maybe if you knew what would happen, you would be better prepared to handle it.
Mary had that opportunity.
The Lord showed up and told her what her story would be.
She would be “the virgin” of Isaiah 7:14 and Mary being the good Jewish girl that she was would know what that meant.
It is one thing to know what it means and another to live through it.
She would be rejected before she was accepted, desperate before she was provided for, slandered long before she was ever believed.
She knew the road before her would not be easy and that the story she had imagined for her life would be drastically different…but she said yes.
She said, “May your word to me be fulfilled”.
She said yes to God knowing that it would be hard.
She decided to trust God when things were not happening the way she thought they would.
She decided to follow God when others would not understand or believe her.
I believe it is the great mercy of God that He leads us one step at a time.
I believe God has a plan for your life and is able to bring it to pass.
I believe it will be harder than you thought it would be but more worth it than you can imagine.
Don’t be afraid. God will empower you to walk in His purposes and guide you faithfully through every challenge that comes.
You will never really know what God can do through you unless you say yes to Him.
Be brave. Say yes.
