Faith is A Verb

Faith is not a feeling.

Faith is a believing – the type of believing leads to action.

A faith that is silent in word and deed is no faith at all.

Do something.

Do the thing that faith is prompting and fear is resisting.

“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions?

James 2:14 NLT

What is God challenging you to do?

What fear is stopping you?

God is bigger than your fear and has a purpose for your faith.

He needs you to be who He has called you to be and do what He has asked you to do.

It isn’t about you, it is about who your obedience will impact.

It is time to put your faith into action.

High Heels in the Sand

I started my morning with a strong cup of home brewed coffee and with Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol playing in the background. The action scenes sooth me. Right now it feels like my own personal Mission Impossible to any writing done. Maybe I will get some pointers from the movie.

I just haven’t made the adjustment to the the rhythm of summer. For the last month I have longed for the early mornings and homework stress of the school year to be over and now that I now have that which I romanticized, I feel like I am walking in high heels in the sand. It isn’t working and it doesn’t make much sense.

So, what is the best thing to do? The same thing I do at the beach: take a moment, stop walking and take off my shoes. Let the heat of the summer sand warm my soles and seep in between my toes. Close my eyes, feel the cool breeze on my face, smell the salt water, hear the surf hit the beach and then retreat again. Let go of my expectations and open my eyes to the blue horizon. Relax and enjoy. Open my eyes and continue walking.

Whatever your summer is shaping up to be I pray that you will know God’s presence in it and feel God’s grace throughout it to help you to make whatever adjustments needed to thrive in this beautiful season.

“God be with you. Grace be with you.”
(2 Timothy 4:22 MSG)

Have a wonderful day.
