Feel Like Quitting?

Do you feel like quitting today?

Don’t.

Don’t quit.

Don’t give up.

There are some gifts that only come from facing the hard things.

There is some growth that only comes from holding onto God through the toughest times.

There is a maturity that only develops as you persevere when everything around you is uncomfortable, difficult, and hard.

“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:4 NIV

God’s wants to use this time in your life to grow you, to bring you to wholeness, to bring the parts that are broken and disconnected back together.

Don’t give up.

Hold on to Jesus and let perseverance do it’s work in you.

Don’t quit.

Hold on and trust Jesus.

If you quit halfway through you may never know what God has for you.

Are You Soul Tired?

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;”

‭Psalm‬ ‭37:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Hebrew word used for “be still” in this verse doesn’t mean for your body not to move, it means to be silent.

It means to silent your mind, quiet the overthinking and obsessive worrying.

Stop talking about it.

Stop thinking about it.

Stop dwelling on it.

Calm your mind.

Clear your thoughts.

Create space in the silence.

Rest.

Enter into a quiet space and fill your soul in the love of God.

He is there waiting to meet you and you don’t need words, you need Him.

The longer you stay there, the stronger this “stillness muscle” grows, the more you will capture the grace of God to apply and live in today.

It is how to restore your tired soul.

Get Back Up

“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭24:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What trips you up?

Is it overthinking, overeating, over-controlling, overworking, oversleeping, over-it-all-so-I-am-quitting everything?

It really isn’t what trips you up that is dangerous, it is what keeps you down when you fall.

You fell.

You are human.

Get up.

You are loved.

God is not done with you.

You have a purpose.

God has a vision for your life.

Get up and take one step toward it today.

He is the God of Hope

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 15:13 NIV

As you look to the future today don’t look to the past to determine its possibilities.

Don’t look around to what is going on around you to determine how you feel about it.

Look to the God of hope who surrounds you with His love.

Look to the God of love who has broken the power of sin on the cross.

Look to Jesus who will fill you with all joy and peace as you trust Him.

Regardless of what is going on around you, His love is for you.

Jesus died and rose again so that your hope would not lie in the power of man but in the power of God.

May you live in the fullness God’s presence and let His hope for your future fill you with courage to face it head on.

Dare to Trust

“When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do.”ROMANS‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Dare to trust God wherever you are and in whatever you are facing.

Even if you’re feeling hopeless.

Stay on the journey.

Though everything in Abraham’s life seemed to indicate otherwise, he chose to focus on the power of God and not on the impossibility of the promise God had given him.

I am sure that there were times that Abraham barely believed and struggled with massive doubt. I am sure that there were days that he was holding on to a thread of hope, he was human.

God will not take away your humanity or your emotions.

His plan is to work through both.

God has called you to trust Him, lean on Him and rely on Him as you walk the road before you.

Stay on the road.

Keep going.

Walk forward with the confidence that you may not know where you are going, but God does.

His promises come with His power.

Power to base your faith on what God can do, not on what you can see.

Hold on, my friend, you may have only had a thread of hope but in Christ, that thread is stronger than what you face and will hold against that which you fear

Peace, Confidence and Rest

“And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!” – John 16:33 TPT

Peace isn’t found in the absence of problems, it is found in Jesus.

Peace isn’t found in the hope that the world will get it right, it is found in the promise that Jesus already did.

Peace is not about having a day without conflict or suffering, it is about leaning into God’s strength to deal with conflict and suffering.

Having peace does not mean having a day without external noise or internal worry.

He who faced death and conquered it, doesn’t tell you to simply have peace, He gives you His peace.

Supernatural, omnipresent, divine peace that faces the darkness without fear that the darkness will overwhelm.

He who is Light overcomes the darkness and guides you through it.

You have nothing to fear.

Rest.

Embrace His Peace.

Allow Him to fill you with knowledge of God and hope of heaven as you face madness of the world around you today.

Distracted by Worry?

Small worries can become big distractions.

They distract you from living loved and loving fearlessly.

If it is something within your power to change, ask Jesus to give you the courage to change it.

If it is something out of your control, something you have no power to change, ask Jesus to meet you in the place of your fear and give you the power to release it to Him.

Jesus is bigger than your fear and able to provide what you need.

May a small worry be transformed into a powerful moment to release and trust in the One who holds the universe (and you) in the palm of His hand.

Jesus said, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” (Luke 12:25, 26 NIV)

What is distracting you today?

Turbulence

You are created to live a God discovering, God serving, God-ordained life.

But that doesn’t mean it is easy.

There will be storms that you must go through.

There will be higher altitudes to climb to.

There will be unexpected turbulence along the way.

I don’t like turbulence when I’m flying in a plane. It’s always unexpected and it always makes me feel worry.

Seconds feel like hours as the plane passes through the rough patch of air and eventually returns to normal.

God doesn’t cause the turbulence in our lives but He will use it, if we let Him.

“And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:2-4 NIV

He will use it to teach us to not give up but persevere.

He will use it to strengthen our hope and build our character.

He will pour His love into our hearts as we face the uncertainty of life and its troubles.

My friend, Jesus knows your journey and what is shaking it up.

He is with you in it and will not leave you to it.

Hold onto the truth of God’s unending love and let that truth bloom into hope that endures the hardest of trials.

Hold on, you will pass through this trial and get to your final destination.

Take A Deep Breath

Take a deep breath.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Whatever today brings, I want to remind you to trust God in it.

Trust that He has your present provided for. Jesus will give you what you need when you need it to deal with what is happening right now.

Trust that He will heal your past. There is no sin stronger than the blood of Jesus and there is no hurt His love can’t heal.

Trust that He has your future in the palm of His hand. Jesus is preparing a place for you and preparing you for the place.

Stressing about it helps no one.

Rest in Him and wait.

Take a deep breath and fix your eyes on Jesus.

He’s got you.

Anxious?

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬

NIV

Do you know what to do with worry?

Here, God says to cast it all on Him.

What does that mean?

Cast means to toss. You can’t throw something without letting it go.

All means to give Jesus every irrational fear, every overwhelming worry, as they come to you.

Your anxiety means not to deny it but to name it. Acknowledge it. Name the fear underneath the worry – then cast it onto God.

Anxiety – the greek word used here literally means to be drawn in two different directions and be torn apart by it. What a great picture of what anxiety feels like.

On Him – where do you put that which is tearing you apart? Put it into the hands of Jesus. He is strong enough to hold it, carry it and handle it.

Why?

Because He Cares – and it means that God is “caring for you right now in this present moment” – what are you anxious about right this minute? God cares about it too.

Right this minute God is caring about you.

For You.

What are you supposed to do with worry?

Look at it, name it then throw it totally on God and ask Him to take care of you as you deal with it.
