What Your Faith Rests In

Friday

“So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy) but in the power of God.”

1 Corinthians 2:5 AMP

When your faith rests in the wisdom of man, it will falter because at it’s best, it is a human attempt to explain divine power.

When your faith rests in your own feelings, it will surge and wane like the waves of the sea.

When your faith rests on your past experience, it can morph into whatever you have experienced, good or bad.

When your faith rests in the Son of God it is like a solid rock upon which the waves of emotion break, the wisdom of men shatters and He becomes the foundation of truth that gives your experience perspective.

Don’t make your decisions based on how you feel, what others say, or what happened in the past.

Ask the Lord to lead you and He will. The One who died for you rose again and sits at the right hand of God will show you the way forward.

He is bigger than your fears, knows what to do with your worries, and is working behind the scenes to bless you.

May today be filled with the promise of the finished work of Jesus and bring you to a new level of faith that is not tossed by emotions but anchored in God’s unchanging love for you.

Love Fearlessly

img_8355

To love deeply gives you strength.
To be loved deeply gives you courage.

One of the most amazing things about receiving God’s love (and I mean really receiving it- taking it in, letting it sink into your soul, walking in the truth of it, living loved) is that it gives you courage.

Courage to step out of your comfort zone.

Courage to change the way you talk to yourself and to others.

Courage to not give in to old habits, coping mechanisms or escape tactics.

Courage to face your feelings and your issues.

Deal with them honestly and work them through because you are loved– completely, unconditionally and fearlessly by God. When you grasp this, even just a bit of it- you will begin to love others fearlessly and let go of fear yourself.

“My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.”

1 John 3:18-20 MSG

When anxiety is stealing your joy, you can bet it is also stealing your ability to love fearlessly as well. Put your worries in God’s capable hands and get busy loving the people He has placed in your life.

Have a wonderful fearless- loving day, my friend!

Hit the Restore Button

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:12‬ ‭NIV

I am praying for the wind of restoration to sweep away the cobwebs of the fear and regret that are clinging to your soul.

I am praying for the worries and wonderings of “what if’s” be swept away because what is done is done and today is a new day.

Today is a new day to invite God in.

Today is a new day to embrace the hope you have in Jesus.

Today is your new day to walk in the power and purpose of God.

I am praying that you hit the “restore” button with Jesus. Ask Him to restore to you the joy of your salvation and fill you with vision & hope.

There is a sweet joy that captures the soul the moment you receive the washing away of yesterday and release the white knuckling fear you have for tomorrow.

Put all your yesterdays and tomorrows into God’s hands – He is big enough to handle them.

May you live fully filled up and have a willing spirit to fully engage in what God has given you to do today.

To Hear

img_7392

If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.” Mark 4:23 NIV

When life gets busy and loud, stressful and activity filled, listening gets difficult.

Sometimes we barely hear what is going on around us and certainly don’t hear what God is saying to us.

Today is a day to hear.

To quiet everything.

Quiet the stress, the worries, the distractions, Facebook, and anything else that is draining your ability to hear Jesus.

God is speaking to you and He has something that He wants you to hear clearly.

Ask Jesus to give you ears to hear and to prepare a quiet place to receive His word for you today.

What is creating the most internal noise in your life right now?

What do you need to do to quiet down the external noise to be able to hear God’s voice better?

What is God saying to you today?
