Time to Climb

“When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him.”

Matthew 5:1-2 MSG

Sometimes Jesus calls you to climb.

He draws you away from the noise of the crowds to a quiet place where He can speak to you.

A place that you can hear Him clearly with no distractions.

He wants to show you something new.

Jesus loved the crowds. He taught them, healed them and fed them but the teaching He was about to give was not for the crowds, it was for the climbers.

When Jesus calls you to climb with Him, you can bet that it is for your benefit.

You can also bet that it isn’t going to be easy.

Nothing worth having comes easy.

When Jesus calls you to climb higher it is to make you stronger.

If you are feeling lost in the crowd, maybe it is because you don’t belong there. You belong to Jesus and He is calling you higher.

What you learn there will change your life.

What mountain is Jesus calling you to climb with Him today?

The Journey to a Sacred Place

A pilgrimage is defined as a journey to a sacred place.

When you are pursuing a thriving relationship with God, you are not just on a pilgrimage, you are living one.

“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭84:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Every place you invite God into becomes a sacred place.

Your home.

Your job.

Your relationships.

The pilgrimage for a Christian is not to go somewhere that God has been but to allow God to be with you where you are right now.

In your weakness.

In your frail humanity.

Into the reality of your life.

Jesus comes in and gives you what you do not deserve but cannot live without. He gives you His abundant love, cross-forged forgiveness, sustaining strength, perfect peace, deep joy, and unrelenting hope right where you are.

Where do you need to invite Jesus into today?

Possible

What are your plans for today?

When you are hopeful, those plans are exciting.

When you are stressed, those plans are surviving.

When you are discouraged, those plans shrink to bare minimum.

God wants to expand your perspective and challenge the boundaries of what you think is possible.

“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked, “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You question the possibilities not because you doubt God but because you doubt yourself.

You judge the possibilities of today based on what you can do and God is asking you to judge the possibilities of today based on what He can can do.

My friend, I’m praying that Jesus will expand the boundaries of what you think is possible and take the limits off what you think God can do through you with what you have and where you are at.

Life in Christ means you are not depending on youraelf for it but fully depending on him.

“When God gives you a clear determination of His will for you, all your striving to maintain that relationship by some particular method is completely unnecessary. All that is required is to live a natural life of absolute dependence on Jesus Christ”

– Oswald Chambers.

What are beleiving God for today?

How are you limiting him?

What do you need to do to bust your faith wide open and believe that all things are possible with Jesus?
