With You

God IS with you.

He is the creator of the universe and He is with you.

Present tense.

He does not reside in the past, however wonderful or horrible yours was.

He does not jump ahead to the future unknowables and fear filled wonderings.

He is here with you.

Right where you are.

The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.

Psalms 46:11 NKJV

The “Selah” at the end of the Psalm is a word that means “pause and think about it”.

Take this moment, this one right here,  to pause whatever you are in the middle of and think about the reality that God IS with you. It is a gift, a miracle and a privilege to be experienced every day.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

Philippians 4:4 NIV

May your day be filled with Selah, the awe, and wonder that God is with you and the desire to have a conversation with Him all day long.

Life With God

There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.

Matthew 6:25, 26 MSG

Life with God is about love, risk, adventure, faith, serving, giving, and enjoying.

Life with God is about being filled with His love and mercy every day and then pouring out on all those around you.

Life with God is about worshipping Him when we wake, when we walk, when we clean, when we work, when we eat, when we get dressed.

Life with God is about knowing that you are saved by grace and reconciled to Him because of the sacrifice of Jesus.

Life with God is about knowing that He loves you because you are His kid and He enjoys spending time with you.

You are a child of God who is cherished, chosen and provided for.

Live in the freedom of His love.

Live care-less in the care of God.

Live more in this truth and less in the lie that you are valued because of what you look like, eat, wear or do.

Jesus has made a way so you can experience far more than that.

This life, this love, this security comes from Him and is unshakable.

The rest is frosting.

With God You Can

“For with God nothing will be impossible.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When God drops a promise in your heart and an opportunity in your lap, you must have faith to go forward. Grab on to faith like it is your job and obey whatever God asks you to do.

Not because it is easy.

Nothing worth having comes easy.

But if God asks you to do it, He will give you what you need to do it.

With God nothing is impossible.

With God you can.

For Today, for Tomorrow

Wherever your road takes you today, trust God on the journey, hold tight onto hope and love with an extravagance that in reminiscent of how God loves you.

You are loved extravagantly.

You have a solid hope in Christ.

You can trust God.

Have a wonderful Thursday and may God’s faith, hope and love spill over into tomorrow as well.

With God You Can

For nothing is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37 NLT)

When faced with overwhelming circumstances and underwhelming realties, you wonder:

“How will this be possible?”

“How am I going to do this?”

When God drops a promise in your heart and an opportunity in your lap, you must have faith to go forward. Grab on to faith like it is your job and obey whatever God asks you to do.

Not because it is easy.

Nothing worth having comes easy.

But if God asks you to do it, He will give you what you need.

With God nothing is impossible.

With God you can.

It is simpler than you think.

Self- interest complicates it. It is difficult to “simply love” others when your innate human desire to self- protect kicks in.

It is easier to go with the flow of human nature and begin to hedge your bets and build cases of reasons to disconnect.

Going down that road, you will find yourself isolated and self-righteous instead of connected and invested.

“The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love —love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God.

Those who fail to keep to this point soon wander off into cul-de-sacs of gossip. They set themselves up as experts on religious issues, but haven’t the remotest idea of what they’re holding forth with such imposing eloquence”. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭5-7‬ MSG)

You can’t do this on your own and you can’t do it without God.

Because of the Cross, you can simply love.

With Christ, in Christ, by Christ.

A life open to God means that you recognize when human nature high jacks the work God wants to do through you.

Sin complicates it.

The Cross simplifies it.

The only way to deal with your human nature is to take it to the Cross.

Lay down your nature and take up Christ’s.

Then with Christ and in Christ, be set free (mostly from yourself) to love those who God has brought to you.

They need it as much as you do.

Simply love.

You Can

You can do the hard thing.

You can face the challenge.

You can have the hard conversation.

You can stay faithful.

You can work hard.

You can go forward.

You can forgive them.

You can forgive yourself.

You can begin again.

“You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.

With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall”.
(‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22‬:‭29-30‬ NIV)

With God, you can.

He is the light through the darkness and your strength in the battle.

When you come to a wall and feel trapped- you can scale that wall with God.

There is no darkness that God’s light cannot penetrate, no enemy that can stop God’s purposes, no wall that He can not overcome.

With God, you can.

Go forward with God.
