Before You Face the World Today

Qte-4

“Father, Reveal who you are today.”
Matthew 11:2 MSG

How you see God impacts how you pray.

Understanding who God really is impacts how you talk to Him. Talking with a good, good Father is very different from talking to a distant divine judge (which is how I used to see God).

Jesus said God is your Father who loves you and to ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

The most life-transforming moments happen when God reveals who He is to you. The moments that you realize that He is proud of you, loves you with an unwavering constancy and is yearning to spend time with you.

This is just the tip of the iceberg – a lifetime of loving Him will barely scratch the surface of His love.

Jesus said to ask God to reveal Himself to you today.

You don’t need a lot of words.

You don’t need a lot of time.

You only need to ask and be open to receive it.

Then, be ready to be amazed.

That is it.

That is everything.

Before you get face to face with all that is happening in the world today, get face to face with your Father and let Him love you.

Mighty God

“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

‭‭Zephaniah‬ ‭3:17 NLT‬‬

Who God is:
Mighty Savior.

Where God is:
With you.

What God does:
He saves you.
He delights in you.
He calms your fears.
He rejoices over you with singing.

In Jesus, this verse has been fulfilled. Because of Jesus, you can experience the reality of walking with God every single day.  A reality where you are aware of God’s saving power.  A reality where you can experience His delight in you.

Lift your eyes above your present circumstances.  This reality has already been bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus. It is yours as you receive it, as you walk in it and as you think more about what God thinks of you rather than what you think of you.

God Is Not Human

IMG_0326.JPG
God is not human that He should lie.

He is not a genie for you to make wishes to.

He is not a cosmic force to be used or manipulated.

God is God. Divine, sovereign, omnipresent, all powerful, everlasting, almighty God.

It is easy to attribute human characteristics to God and to create an idea of Him based on who you have known:

He is not your earthy father.
He is not your Christian friend.
He is not the pastor you love or the pastor you don’t love.

He is not human. Humanity was added to divinity when Jesus came to the earth as Savior.

But He has always been Lord, always been God.

He still is.

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. (‭Numbers‬ ‭23‬:‭19 NIV)

Our trust issues have more to do with who we think God is, rather than the truth of who He is. That is why He will always challenge those false ideas, clarify them and continually, faithfully show you who He is.
