With Jesus

Come, he said.  Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.”
Matthew‬ ‭14:28-29‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It’s impossible to walk on water.

It’s impossible to feed 5,000 people with a small boy’s lunch.

It’s impossible to heal a man born blind.

Jesus did all this and more while inviting His disciples to join Him.

They not only watched Jesus do these things, they got to be a part of it.

They did their part and Jesus did His.

He walked on water and invited Peter to walk with Him there.

Peter wanted to be where Jesus was, which happened to be on the water.

Peter helped Jesus feed over 5,000 people by doing what Jesus told him to do: pass out bread and fish.

Jesus will invite you to do the impossible without expecting you to do it in your own strength. 

Jesus knows you can’t do the impossible without Him. 

He fully expects you to fully depend on Him for it. 

Don’t focus on what seems impossible today.

Focus on following Jesus and following through on what He has asked you to do.

I am praying for you to receive all Jesus has for you,

to boldly go with Him to places you have never been before.

To experience new life, new love, new freedom, new hope and a brand new normal of stepping out in faith with Him. 

In Jesus’ name, Amen

Trust God

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Whatever today brings, I want to remind you to trust God in it.

Trust that He has your present provided for. Jesus will give you what you need when you need it to deal with what is happening right now.

Trust that He will heal your past. There is no sin stronger than the blood of Jesus and there is no hurt His love can’t heal.

Trust that He has your future in the palm of His hand. Jesus is preparing a place for you and preparing you for the place. Stressing about it helps no one. Rest in Him and wait.

Take a deep breath and fix your eyes on Jesus. 

Trust Jesus.

Trust Me

Jesus will complete what He started in you but He will not do it without you.

The thing is, that you decide how long it takes for some things to be worked out.

God has begun a good work in you, but if you don’t step out in faith and trust what He has asked of you, the work will not be done in you until you do.

If you choose to hold on to bitterness rather than forgive, you lengthen your journey.

If you allow fear to stop you from stepping up and doing what God has called you to do, Jesus won’t leave you. He will walk with you. He will continue to heal you, develop His grace in you. God will continue to bring it before you and put the choice(s) in your hand.

What you choose to do with it, is up to you.

Many times, God has already given us what we need to grow and He is waiting for us to take a step of faith.

Scripture says that God will work in you but He will not walk for you. That is up to you.

“And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.”
2 John 1:6 NIV

Even if it is a small step, trust and obey.

Especially if it is a small step, trust and obey.

My friend, take the first step without knowing what the second step is.

That is the definition of trusting God.

What is Jesus asking you to trust Him in?

What small step is He asking you to take today?

Rest

Wholeness takes time.

Abundant life in Christ includes abundant rest in Him.

Resting from trying to figure it all out.

Resting from worrying yourself sick.

Resting from trying to control everything and have the answers for everything.

“May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ.

The One who called you is completely dependable.

If he said it, he’ll do it!”

1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:23-24‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Take a deep breath, slow down.

The very best thing you can do is rest in Him.

The Lord isn’t slow in keeping His promises,  He is faithful to complete what He has started and is completely dependable.

I know it isn’t easy and life may not make sense right now.

Hold on, my friend.

Let Jesus work.

Trust in Him.

Put yourself and what is weighing heavy on your heart into His Hands.

He is patient with you (and with others) because He sees more than you do, His reach extends yours and His knowledge is not hindered by time or eternity.

God knows real change takes time and He is willing to wait.

Rest in Him today and give yourself permission to stop worrying about things you can’t control.

Abundant Rest

Replenishing Rest


Work hard and rest in Christ.

Don’t allow the undone things on your to-do list steal your peace.

Do everything you can then let it go until tomorrow comes.

Leave your worries and fears in God’s hands.

Don’t over analyze every word that was said, every deed that was done.

Let God replenish you with His vision for your life.

“I’ll refresh tired bodies; I’ll restore tired souls.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31:25‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Let prayer at night become a praise session instead of a worry session.

Don’t waste your energy when you are supposed to be replenishing it.

Begin your week with a determination to trust in Jesus and rest in the abundance of his love.

Able 

  

The limitless ability of God is beyond what I can wrap my brain around. However, just because I can’t understand something doesn’t mean it isn’t true. 

Light travels at 299,792,458 metres per second whether or not I understand how it does it. I don’t worry about how it works, I just flip on the light when I need to. 

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,” Ephesians‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭NIV

“The literal translation of this passage from the Greek expresses the thought in this way: 

God is not merely able but abundantly and generously able, with an infinite surplus of resources and eternally able to “do what he had promised”. 

He is the God of limitless resources- the only limit comes from us. Our requests, our thoughts and our prayers are too small,and our expectation are too low. 

God is trying to raise our vision to a higher level, call us to have greater expectations and thereby bring us to greater appropriation. 

Shall we continue living in a way that mocks His will and denies His Word? 

There is no limit to what we may ask and expect of our glorious El Shaddai – our Almighty God. And there is no way for us to measure His blessing, for He is “able to do immeasurably mo than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3:20)”

You don’t have to understand how God will provide, you just have to trust Him to do it. 

You don’t have to figure out how God is going to fulfill His part, you simply have to do your part and step out in faith.

Trust and obey.  

Let the worry go to the wind and the anxiety drift to the bottom of the sea. Stop trying to figure out how it is going to happen and just do what you know God has asked you to do today. 

Years ago a good friend told me, “When God guides, He provides”. 

God is able. 

Some Times 

  
When you have a relationship with God, it doesn’t mean everything is suddenly perfect. 

It means that you don’t walk alone. 

But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands” (Psalm 31:14-15a NIV).

Jesus will walk with you through all your times: good times, bad times or in-between times. Heart-wrenching times, peace-filled times, exhausting-times, and resting-times. 

Sometimes all in one day. 

Whatever your season of life, whatever time you are having, Jesus will walk with you through it. I don’t know about you but I am always relieved when I see He is with me. 

Whatever you are facing today, Know that Jesus is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. He will lead you through.
