Living Forgiven

and then a total life-change through the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed in His name to all nations”

Luke 24:47 MSG

There is no greater sense of purpose than accepting God’s power to make a 180-degree turn and change.

This doesn’t just happen once.

It isn’t reserved only for “the first time” you recognize you are in need of salvation but is a privileged right of every child of God, no matter how long (or how little) you have let Jesus love you.

It is the ONE thing that keeps your relationship with God thriving and alive – asking for forgiveness.

Get before God today and lay down all that is holding you back.

Every day.
Once a week.
Once a month.
Once a year.
Whatever it takes.

The more the better.

I have learned that I need the time and space to search my heart, to be real before God, to mourn my own weaknesses, to own my mistakes and get the neglected areas of my heart right with God.

How is your heart?

When was the last time you made time to spend time with God and ask Him to cleanse your soul?

Make time for it – right now.

What gets scheduled gets done.

Be brave.

You are worth it.

Heart Work

“In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Just as an untended garden grows wild and will produce good things as well as life-threatening weeds, it is the same with your heart.

Your heart needs to be tended to on a daily basis.

New things need to be planted, old things need to be pruned.

Your most important job is to give God time, opportunity and full access to do His work in your heart.

A quiet, secure heart is of great value to those closest to you and the loud, insecure world around you.

How is your heart doing?

Shut the world out and invite Jesus in to lovingly landscape your heart with His love today.

Time is Precious

Time is precious, use it wisely.

Did you know that when the word “priority” was introduced and used in English that is was not plural? It was was only singular as in “what is your top priority or your priority for today?

Over time, it became plural as now we have five top priorities rather than one. Our culture is now more about trying to figure out what is the top priority out of the five top things that must be done today.

I vote that we make priority singular again, especially now as we are waist-deep in the busyness.

I don’t know about you, but it is so easy for me to fall prey to “just surviving” and then being sucked into everyone else’s crisis of the moment.

It is so easy to forget that if you are empty, you will have nothing to give others. Before you make your to-do list today put time with God in the number one spot.

Make your relationship with God your first and only priority. Spend some time with Him and let Him love you.

“Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”

Matthew 6:30-33 MSG

Today, may your soul be filled with His presence and may your heart be overflowing with His love.

Spend some time just being His kid and you will be pleasantly surprised by how that changes everything.

Priority

Over time, it became plural as now we have five top priorities rather than one. Our culture is now more about trying to figure what is the top priority out of the five top things that must be done today.

I vote that we make priority singular again, especially now as we are waist deep in the holiday season.

I don’t know about you, but it is so easy for me to fall prey to “just surviving” and then being sucked into everyone else’s crisis of the moment and it ramps up even more during this season.

Along with the sweet memories being made during the holidays comes the stress of added parties, stretched finances, being exhausted and days that fly by in the blink of an eye.

It is so easy to forget that if you are empty, you will have nothing to give others. Before you make your to-do list today put time with God in the number one spot.

Make your relationship with God your first and only priority. Spend some time with your Dad. Let Him love you.

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.

Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.

Matthew 14:22-25

Jesus had face time with His Father before He faced the storm.

He stood on the shore alone. Jesus didn’t look for a boat or wait until He found one. He just walked right into the storm by doing the impossible and walked on the water.

You may feel like you are facing an impossible situation.

Good news: your Savior knows how to do impossible things.

Jesus knows where you are at and what you are facing.

When things get overwhelming, lean in and hear His voice: “Before you face the day, get face to face with Me. I will bring you through it. I know the way”.

“We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all-all but the sin.

So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help”. Hebrews 4:15, 16 MSG

“If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it”.

Priorities

todo_xlg07

I suppose that if it was easy to keep the most important thing on the top of our priority list, then we wouldn’t even need a list. I don’t know about you, but it is so easy for me to fall prey to “just surviving” and then being sucked into everyone else’s crisis of the moment. It ramps up even more during the holiday season. Along with the sweet memories being made during the holidays comes the stress of added parties, stretched finances, winter flus and colds (I am being hunted by a cold as I write this, ugh) and days that fly by in the blink of an eye.

It is so easy to forget that if you are empty, you will have nothing to give others. We need to be reminded that before you make your to do list, put time with God in the number one spot.

Seek first his kingdom.

“Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.” (Matthew 6:30-33 MSG)

May your soul be filled with his presence and may your heart beoverflowing with his love. Ask him to show you his perspective of your day and you will be pleasantly surprised by how that changes everything.
