“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
The gift that you are with your smile and words, your hands and heart, how you cook or clean, create or organize, how you lead and follow, bless and pray is meant to be given, not hidden.
God has given you gifts.
All kinds.
Some come as talent.
Others are revealed in character.
Some are gifts to you as well as through you that bring such joy that you can’t wait to share them.
Some are so close to your heart that you are afraid to reveal them.
But gifts are made for giving.
Salt is made for seasoning.
Light is made for lighting.
Gifts are made for giving.
The more precious they are to you, the more powerful they will be for others.
The gifts you have been given are to be given away: to serve, to love, to mend, to tend, to bless, to build.

Cautious Living

I was afraid I might disappoint you, so I found a good hiding place and secured your money. Here it is, safe and sound down to the last cent.’

“The master was furious. ‘That’s a terrible way to live! It’s criminal to live cautiously like that!
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:25 MSG‬‬

This verse says it’s criminal to live cautiously with God given-investments.

When God invests in you, puts something in your hand, in your heart or in your personality, He expects you to do something with it.

The third servant in the story took what his master gave him and “dug a hole and buried it” (vs16).

What has God invested in you?

What have you buried in fear ?

Are you growing your gifts?

What does it look like to use and multiply what God has invested in you?

Beth Moore says “Sometimes, we can protect ourselves right out of our calling.”

Cautious Living is a crime in God’s eyes.

He loves you passionately and expects you to boldly put to work the visions, gifts and callings that he has given you.

You may be asking God to give you more…but he may be asking, “What are you doing with what I’ve already given you?”

Gift Giving

“Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! ”
(1 Corinthians 12:7 MSG)

This is the season of gift giving and I love it. We celebrate what God has given us by giving gifts to each other. However, there is something more important than giving new things to the people in your life and it is the opportunity to walk in the gift God has made you to be.

By using the gifts God has given you, the talents of your hands, the strengths of your personality, the driving passion of your heart, God uses you to reveal Himself to others.

Everyone has unique God given gifts and everyone benefits from them. Like a great orchestra filled with a hundred different instruments but all following the same conductor and creating the art of music that transcends the realm of earth and brings us closer to heaven. The orchestra is amazing because each individual has grown in, practiced relentlessly and played their own instrument until it is an extension of themselves.

It is not a prideful thing to use your gifts for the glory of God, it is a needed thing.

The world needs people who are connected to God, using their gifts so that God is revealed and those people can get connected to God. When people are connected to God they pass from death to life, from darkness to light and begin to develop their God given gifts so that others can get connected to God and… you get the picture.

You hide our gifts thinking they are not good enough. You do not grow in them because you think you are not good enough. But this isn’t about you, it is about God blessing others through you.

What are your gifts (what the world sometimes called talents)?

How are you going to use it today?

Have you grown in it, practiced it relentlessly and walked in it until it is an extension of who you are to the glory of God?

If not, begin doing it today.

If you have done it before and stopped, begin again today.

What Is Stopping You?

God has given you gifts to deal specifically with your unique life and He has given you permission to use them.

“if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭7-8‬ NIV)

What has God given you to do?

Just do it.

Cheerfully.
