“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”Galations 5:16
Life is unpredictable.
Every day brings the unexpected and unplanned for.
The good news is that you have Jesus. He is here to guide you through it. He is your Shepherd. He sees ahead, helps you walk through, takes you where you need to go and protects you along the way. Dangers may loom, predators may attack but you are not alone.
“GOD, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.”
Psalm 23:1-3 MSG
Are you tired and worn out?
Jesus has quiet waters to restore your tired soul. Quiet means still, waters are refreshing. When was the last time you just let all around you become quiet and refreshed your spirit?
Is your soul starved?
Jesus will lead you to green pastures that will feed your hungry heart. He has made you with intentional and unique ways of refilling yourself when you’re empty. When was the last time you spent time doing what fills your soul?
Are you feeling lost?
God will guide you to the right paths that will bring God glory. He has created on purpose for a purpose and will guide you in it. When was the last time you asked Him to show you the right path for this season? Often we continue in an old path from an old season until we look around and say, “I’m not in the right place”. Jesus is a present God who will give you updated guidance on the right path you are meant to be on.
He will lead you through the hills, the valleys , the deserts and all the while, in the middle of it all, will provide a place for you to rest, refill, refocus in Him.
Jesus is the good Shepherd, let Him lead you to quiet waters. He will lead you to what you really need today.
“He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.”Romans 3:21-24 MSG
Rest doesn’t have a season.
It isn’t optional.
You need it, every day.
Not just your body but also your soul, spirit, and mind.
“Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.”
Exodus 34:21 NIV
You need to rest, refresh, recharge in all seasons, especially in the busiest ones.
It isn’t optional. It’s how God made you and it is the way to optimize the gifts He has given you to fulfill the purpose He has placed before you.
What refreshes your spirit?
What rejuvenates your mind?
What feeds your soul?
The jail cell of bondage is still a cell of bondage no matter how pretty you make it. God bought your release from it and continues to call you to freedom in every area of your life that needs it.
Why does he do it? Why doesn’t he give up on us? It is because he loves you unconditionally and created you to live everyday with overwhelming love, deep joy, persistent peace, solid patience, thoughtful kindness, soul deep goodness, stubborn faithfulness, grace filled gentleness and Spirit inspired self control.
What a life! Can you imagine it?
It is possible with God. By asking him to fill you, show you, empower you. This is what your life is meant to be.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (Galatians 5:22, 23 NLT)
Wherever these things are missing is an opportunity for God to work in you and an opportunity for you to grow.
Because you are worth it.
