Wise Advice

“The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes ‬ ‭9:17 NIV‬

If you are looking for good advice, ask a quiet person you respect.

Ask the one who knows you and knows Jesus.

Ask the one who doesn’t offer their opinion at every opportunity but rather waits for permission to speak into your life.

Ask the questions you need answers to. If they are wise, they are safe. Seek them out.

If they are loud, manipulative, believe they are always right and get mad when you don’t do what they say…avoid them.

Don’t let fear stop you from getting the guidance you need.

You are worth it.

What do you need wisdom for today?

Who has God put in your path to help you?

Vulnerable Desperation

“Desperate, I throw myself on you: you are my God! Hour by hour I place my days in your hand, safe from the hands out to get me.”
Psalm 31:14, 15 MSG
You are desperate when you have run out of options and have done all you can with what you have and come up wanting.
You are desperate when you realize you have no control. No control over how others react. No control over what others think. No control over what others choose.
Desperation feels horrid. It feels scary.
And yet desperation drives us to our knees.
It drives us to an honest place where we admit we have no power and no actual control.
It is the realization that we are impotent to procure any real change, unable to bring about that which we desire.
When we have nothing left, we have everything to gain.
Why? Because that is when we throw ourselves on the mercy of God and admit the truth that we are human and not small gods. We are mortal and God is the immortal, all-powerful, omniscient God.
It is actually the safest place to be when we feel the most vulnerable.
When you are just surviving hour by hour- you find God is walking with you minute by minute.
“…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down(relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]”
Hebrews 13:5 AMP
If you are in a desperate place right now, throw yourself on God, because you are in good hands when you are in His hands.
Are you in a desperate place?
What can I pray for you?
What does walking with God minute by minute look like to you right now?

Quiet Words

Hide Here

Sometimes you just need a place to hide for awhile. Something happens and you feel vulnerable and wounded. You want to crawl back under the covers and not face your world.

Only life doesn’t work that way. You still have things to do, people to take care of …life demands doing, especially when trouble surrounds.

“For you are my hiding place;

you protect me from trouble.

You surround me with songs of victory.”

Psalm 32:7 NLT

There is a place to hide in for a while that is a healing place. A safe place. A place of refuge where gentle songs of victory, thanksgiving, and praise echo all around you.

That place is God himself. He invites you into Himself and says, “Hide here– let Me be your refuge in the storm”.

Instead of crawling back in bed, crawl under God’s covering and listen to the songs of victory He sings over you

Covered

As you begin the weekend, I wanted to remind you that you have a place of refuge in Christ to live from. A fortress of strength to love from. A tower of trust to give from.

Live from the truth of who Jesus is and what he has done for you on the cross.

You are restored and redeemed.

You are accepted and forgiven.

Ypu are cherished and loved.

When the strong sun of adversity beats down, rest in Shaddai’s shadow. Tuck yourself into His side and remind your soul whose you are.

“You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow, Say this: “GOD, you’re my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe!” That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards.

His huge outstretched arms protect you— under them you’re perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭91:1-5 MSG‬‬

When fear screams the loudest, run to the refuge of the cross. Jesus died for you so that you could have this: an unhindered relationship with your Father in heaven who has strong arms and strong love.

Hide in Him.

Fear nothing.

He’s got you covered.
