Rooted In Love

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lordʼs holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

Ephesians 3:17-19 NIV

My friend, there is no such thing as normal. 

There is routine, there is what you are used to, there is “how things used to be,” but there is no normal.

Let go of trying to be normal and focus on being established in God’s love for you with roots that grow deep to withstand the storms of change.

Draw your security from God and dig in to get the most from this time in your life.

Deep Roots

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6 NIV 

My prayer for you today is that you will be so strongly connected with Jesus that His strong bands of love, loyalty, faithfulness and grace will invade every area of your life like the roots of a tree. 

I pray that you will experience this love, His love, that is higher than the highest mountain summit, deeper than the deepest cavern of the sea, wider than the expanse of east to west and with a reach long enough to rescue you from the darkest, dingiest place of shame that sin sucks you down to.

I pray that you will have power to truly take hold of God’s all encompassing, crisis surpassing, past erasing, future embracing love. 

And that when you grasp this, even just a little bit of it, it will give you wings to rise above your circumstances, face the obstacles before you with courage and walk fully in your God given purpose.

Blessed Fruit

Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. (‭Psalms‬ ‭128‬:‭1-2‬ NKJV)

Blessed fruit comes from strong roots.

When you worship in word, deeds, songs and service, you are blessed.

When you step out in faith and say yes to nudges and promptings of the Holy Spirit, you are blessed.

When you choose to live God’s way instead of your own way or the world’s way, you are blessed.

When you purpose in your heart to be faithful, you are blessed.

When you work hard where you are at, with what God has given you, you are blessed.

Don’t worry about the fruit of your faith, just continue feed the root of it.
