Restoration

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:12‬ ‭NIV

Today I am praying for the wind of restoration to sweep away the cobwebs of the fear and regret that are clinging to your soul.

I am praying for the worries and wonderings of “what if’s” be swept away because what is done is done and today is a new day.

Today is a new day to invite God in.

Today is a new day to embrace the hope you have in Jesus.

Today is your new day to walk in the power and purpose of God.

Ask Jesus to restore to you the joy of your salvation and fill you with vision & hope.

There is a sweet joy that captures the soul the moment you receive the washing away of yesterday and release the white knuckling fear you have for tomorrow.

Put all your yesterdays and tomorrows into God’s hands – He is big enough to handle them.

May you live fully filled up and have a willing spirit to fully engage in what God has given you to do today.

Look Past It

For the joy.

For the restoration of mankind to God.

For the intimate relationship with you.

That is why Jesus went to the cross.

“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

He sat down at the right hand of the throne of God, as an advocate and as the authority.

He didn’t lose sight of the future, he focused on it.

It is easy to be overwhelmed when you are in pain and let the difficulty before you fill your vision. You begin to anticipate the pain of the situation bleeding into your tomorrows but that is the exact moment that you need to see beyond it and refocus on the future.

Remind yourself of what is important. Face it with integrity, intention and invest your energy in the future past the trial.

Jesus knew that going to the cross would restore mankind to a right relationship with God.

He is your Advocate, He sees your future and has the authority to give you what you need to get to it.

Restoration

I am praying for a refreshing wind of restoration to sweep away the cobwebs of past fear and past regrets that have been clinging to your soul.

That worries and wonderings of “what it’s” or “should have’s” that make no difference would be washed away because what is done is done and today is a new day.

A new day to invite God in.

A new day to embrace the hope you have in Christ.

A new day to walk in the power and purpose of God as if it is the first day of the rest of your life…because it is.

There is a sweet joy that captures the soul the moment you receive the washing away of yesterday and release the white knuckling hold you have on tomorrow into God’s hands.

It’s not a bad way to start the week.

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

May your spirit be open to new discoveries of the grace of God and well up into a new willingness to hope again. To pray again. To know Him more and better today than you did yesterday.

Restored

Being right with God isn’t the hard part.

The hard part is learning how to live it out.

You have lived a long time being broken.

A long time learning how to cope with it, how to function in it. The good news of Jesus Christ is that He has taken your brokeness upon himself and in return offers you wholeness. To restore your mind, heart, soul and spirit to God’s original design.

He wants to teach you a new way to live.

How to live whole and treasured.

How to live trusting and trusted.

How to live nurtured and nourished.

How to love and be loved.

“He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.” (‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭21-24‬ MSG)

It takes time and perseverance.

God provides the time, we provide the perseverance.

Don’t give up. Everyday you are learning how to live restored in Christ.

“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ NIV)

God Is Always At Work

In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” (‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ NIV)

God is always at his work.

You may not see it, understand it or even discern it but he is working.

What is God’s work?

Redemption.
Restoration.
Recreation.

God is at work in your life.

Redeeming that which has been lost.

Restoring that which has stolen.

Recreating that which has destroyed.

He does not take a holiday, he does not need to take a vacation. He IS working.

Earlier in this chapter, Jesus asked the
crippled man by the pool “Do you want to be made well?” It seems like a rhetorical question, right?

A Bible commentator named David
Guzik says this,

“His question may seem rhetorical, but Jesus knew that not every sick person wants to be healed, and that some are so discouraged that they put away all hope. Jesus is dealing with a man who may have his heart withered as well as his legs.”

God wants to restore hope to your heart as well as healing to your life.

Can you begin to hope again in that part if your life that you have given up on? Can you believe that God can restore it?

Yes. Yes.

You may have given up but
God has not.
He is always at work.
