Trust God Today

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Whatever today brings, I want to remind you to trust God in it.

Trust that He has your present provided for. Jesus will give you what you need when you need it to deal with what is happening right now.

Trust that He will heal your past. There is no sin stronger than the blood of Jesus and there is no hurt His love can’t heal.

Trust that He has your future in the palm of His hand. Jesus is preparing a place for you and preparing you for the place. Stressing about it helps no one. Rest in Him and wait.

Take a deep breath and fix your eyes on Jesus.

Trust Jesus.

How to Celebrate When You Are Not Feeling It.

“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Just so you know, the day doesn’t get to choose if it is enjoyable or not, you do.

The “always” is there because you won’t always feel like rejoicing.

Some days test your patience, challenge your sanity and make you want to say bad words.

“Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Instead of blowing up, bow down in prayer.

God is close- so close, you can lean on Him, talk to Him and ask for His help all day long.

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The peace of God does not depend on outward circumstances, other people’s choices or mistakes.

It comes from God and transcends all human understanding.

You can have the peace of God within you as the world goes crazy around you.

You don’t have to understand it to receive it.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Celebrate His love.

Enjoy it all as you walk with Jesus today, my friend.

A Hungry Soul

What do you do to fill the emptiness?

What do you do to waylay the fear?

How do you assuage the gnawing hunger of your soul?

“We work to feed our appetites; Meanwhile our souls go hungry.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭6:7‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Your not hungry for more food or more money.

More stuff, more things, will not stay the starvation of your soul.

You are hungry for love.

You are hungry for acceptance.

You are hungry for wholeness.

You are hungry for only what God can provide.

“God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as he says. Everything I need comes from him, so why not? He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, An impregnable castle: I’m set for life.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭62:1-2‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Work, eat, love… and look to God to fill your soul with an inexpressible and gloroius joy that he has paid for, provided and everyday longs to impart it to you.

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭8-9‬ NIV

Tie a Knot and Hold On

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. (Psalm 33:20 NIV)

The Hebrew word used “wait” implies being tied to something or tying yourself to something.

When you are feeling exhausted, drained and powerless- tie yourself a knot and hold on.

Rest in God.

God is your help – you can’t do it by yourself.

God is your shield- you don’t have to fight this battle. Hide behind his shield and let him take care of it.

God knows what you need, when you will need it and how to get it to you.

He will give you the words to say and the strength to say them, when the time is right.

You have a provider who has given you a promise of His protection.

When you are at the end of your hope, tie a knot and hold onto God.
