It Is About Worship

“Oh come let us adore him,

Oh come let us adore him,

Oh come let us adore him,

Christ the Lord.”

Christmas is about worship.

It is about capturing the wondrous moment of joy that Jesus came for you.

It is being reinvigorated by an authentic connection with Him.

It is remembering the moment that your relationship to Christ changed from knowing of Him to knowing Him.

Knowing Jesus is real, that He loves you with love’s unconditional voice, not just once but every day.

Not just in some things, but in all things.

My friend, that which began in a manger continues in our hearts today.

Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us.

It’s not business, it’s personal.

May you experience a moment during the craziness of this season that helps you remember that Christmas is more than a tradition but a worldwide celebration of new life in Christ, starting with yours.

Even If They Are Not Sorry

forgive-them-even-if-they-are-not-sorry-quote-1

“When we forgive an offense, we set a prisoner free, only to discover that we were that prisoner”.

– Freedom Groups, Week 7

Forgiveness is not a feeling. It is a choice to let God have it, hold it, and be responsible for itwhatever it is.

Forgiveness is taking the power away from them and giving it back to God.

You don’t have to trust them to forgive them.

Forgiveness is not about restoring trust in them, it is about trusting God with your heart.

They don’t have to be sorry in order for you to forgive them. They don’t even have to know that you have released them to God.

What you do have to do is make the choice today and every day after, then continue to make the choice until the feeling lines up with the decision.

And it will.

One day you will be able to remember what happened without reliving the pain.

“Forgive us what we have done wrong, as we too have forgiven those who have wronged us”

A Christmas Moment

God-With-Us-Title-1-1080x675
Immanuel.
God with us.
The Second Person of the Trinity, eternal, all-powerful, left heaven to add humanity to His deity.
He came to earth to bring heaven to humanity.
He came to bring heaven to you.
“All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”
Isaiah 7:14 NLT
May you have a moment today where the awe-inspiring truth of Christmas captures your soul and remember that He did it all for you.

Chill

Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.”

Psalm 116:7 NIV

Don’t let a bad attitude rob you of a good opportunity to be used by God today.

The very best way to to change your attitude is reminding yourself who God is and who you are in Christ.

When the world crowds you and makes you feel claustrophobic with all the “things needed ASAP”, it is good to take a moment to chill and remember that God is good and has been good to you.

It resets your perspective and returns your internal state from “fret” to “rest”.

Unwind your worry.

Reset your soul to rest.

God has called you to be a change maker where you are.

He will give you everything you need to do it including reminding you to get out of the way.

Let go of all the things you can’t control today and reset the one thing you can- your attitude.

What does re-setting your soul to rest in Jesus look like for you today?

The Good and Perfect Gift

IMG_0359.JPG
The real gifts of life come in moments not in boxes.

They are the smiles of genuine friends, the tears of precious ones,
the laughter shared and
the hugs received.

They are the moments of courage that push you forward and the moments of risk that change your life.

They are the mundane quiet moments with God as well as the powerful, anointed ones.

And the very best moment of all is the moment that you knew Jesus not as the babe in the manger but as the Savior on the cross. It was the moment that changed your eternity and opened up all of heaven to you. It was the moment you accepted Christ’s gift of salvation. Do you remember the moment when this became real to you?

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ NIV)

Jesus is the good and perfect gift sent to us from God.

As you experience all kinds of moments today with friends and family, may the good and perfect gift from heaven fill your heart with unspeakable joy and absolute peace.

Have a wonderful and abundantly blessed Christmas Day.
