Unquestionably Free

Thursday
“So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free”.
John 8:36 AMP
Are you discouraged today because it seems like real change is impossible?
Don’t let anyone or anything con you into believing you are still a slave to sin.  Don’t believe the enemy’s lies that you have no power to break old habits, thought patterns, temptations, or addictions.
When Jesus sets you free, you are free.
So then why does it take so long to learn how to live in this freedom?
It is because while Jesus has broken the spiritual contract of sin over your life and you are  “legally” free, your flesh has been well trained by its former slave masters.
Your flesh or old nature, has old habits, temptations, and thought patterns that are deeply set in it through years of experience and practice.
Real change takes time. Don’t give up.

What Jesus did on the cross for you means that you have the hope of real change, exponential growth, and truly transforming your life.

Jesus doesn’t just give you hope, He comes alongside you every day to do it.

Real Change Takes Time

prayer-quotes

“and then a total life-change through the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed in His name to all nations”

Luke 24:47 MSG

There is no greater sense of purpose than accepting God’s power to make a 180-degree turn and change.

This doesn’t just happen once.

It isn’t reserved only for “the first time” you recognize you are in need of salvation but is a privileged right of every child of God, no matter how long (or how little) you have let Jesus love you.

It is the ONE thing that keeps your relationship with God thriving and alive- asking for forgiveness.

Get before God today and lay down all that is holding you back.

Every day.
Once a week.
Once a month.
Once a year.
Whatever it takes.

The more the better.

One of the reasons I need to go away by myself for a couple of days a year is to have the space to process the junk in my heart that has been collected just by living life.

I have learned that I need the time and space to search my heart, to be real before God, to mourn my own weaknesses, to own my mistakes and get the neglected areas of my heart right with God.

Be brave.

What do you need to lay down before the cross?

How is your heart? It is cluttered and clogged?

When was the last time you made time to spend time with God and ask Him to cleanse your soul?

Make time for it – right now.

What gets scheduled gets done.

You are worth it.

Abundant Rest

Abundant life in Christ includes abundant rest in Him. It is easy to mistake more for better and busy for important.

Wholeness takes time.

“May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ.

The One who called you is completely dependable.

If he said it, he’ll do it!”

1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:23-24‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Take a deep breath, slow down.

The Lord isn’t slow in keeping His promises. He is faithful to complete what He has started.

The very best thing you can to do is rest in Him.

Let Him work.

Trust in Him.

Put yourself and what is weighing heavy on your heart into His Hands.

He is patient with you (and with others) because He sees more than you do, His reach extends yours and His knowledge is not hindered by time or eternity.

God knows real change takes time and He is willing to wait.

Rest in Him today and give yourself permission to stop worrying about things you can’t control.
