When life gets busy and loud, stressful and activity filled, listening gets difficult.

Sometimes we barely hear what is going on around us and certainly don’t hear what God is saying to us.

Jesus is always communicating with you. He is always speaking truth to you.

Today is a day to listen.

To quiet everything.

Quiet the stress, the worries, the distractions, Facebook, and anything else that is draining your ability to hear Jesus.

Jesus is speaking to you and He has something that He wants you to hear clearly.

I am asking Jesus to give you ears to hear and to prepare a quiet place for you to receive His word for you today.

What do you need to do to quiet down the external noise to be able to hear God’s voice better?

Instead of Worry, Wait.

It is good to wait quietly for God.

“It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Stop wondering, worrying, analyzing and overthinking where you are or where you think you should be.

Hush the thoughts that incessantly make you anxious.

Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”  2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭5‬ NIV

Quiet your mind.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”.

Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭22-23‬ NIV

God knows what is going on.

He knows what will happen.

He loves you.

New mercies are coming your way, my friend.

What are you worrying about?

What are you trusting God with today?

The Quiet Yes

Don’t underestimate the power of a quiet yes.

“So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time”.
‭‭James‬ ‭4:7 ‭MSG

‬‬A quiet yes spoken with conviction.

A quiet yes whispered in surrender.

A quiet yes of obedience to make a 180 degree turn around in your life.

A quiet yes when He asks you to not settle for good when Jesus wants great things for you.

A quiet yes, because Jesus hears you even if you whisper.

A loud NO, because the enemy doesn’t.

The temptation to listen to lies of the enemy is strong because he is talking to you all the time and telling you the lies you already believe.

Today is your day to shout:

“No, I won’t settle for less”.

“No, I won’t quit”.

“No, I will not shrink back, I will push forward”.

Don’t settle for less than what God has for you.

Change Your Mind

Repent is an old word that we don’t use much anymore but the concept behind it is one we do all the time – we change our mind. And when we change our mind, we change the direction of our lives.
Right in the middle of the busiest season of the year, I want to remind you that the most powerful thing you can do right now is rest and repent.
Rest in God’s grace.
Repent of self-effort.
Rest from perfect image making.
The kind of rest God has for you is a deep down rest that knows and is confident that God will fulfill His Word in you.
It is a confidence not born of flesh or work but from the Spirit and grace.
It is a trust that is so sure that a quietness envelopes your soul.
You can rest in the midst of conflict.
You can be quiet in the midst of chaos.
This kind of rest doesn’t come from removing all strife from your life, it comes from being obedient in the midst of it.
It comes from making hard choices and trusting God’s way instead of your own.
“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30:15‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Repentance is about realizing that all your dizzying efforts to make your life happen your way will only cause you strife, fear, and pain.
Rest is about realizing that you are loved completely by a Savior who sacrificed Himself for you so that you can be empowered to live the life He created you for.

Your Life Guide

Life is unpredictable.

Every day brings the unexpected and unplanned for.

The good news is that you have Jesus. He is your Shepherd.

He sees ahead, helps you walk through, takes you where you need to go and protects you along the way. Dangers may loom, predators may attack but you are not alone.

Are you tired and worn out?

Jesus has quiet waters to restore your tired soul.

Is your soul starved?

Jesus will lead you to green pastures that will feed your hungry heart.

Are you feeling lost?

God will guide you to the right paths that will bring God glory.

He will lead you through the hills, the valleys , the deserts and all the while searching for a place for you to rest.

Follow His lead today.

A Quiet Heart

“In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Living in a loud world requires cultivating a quiet heart and it is more like cultivating a garden than completing a to-do list.

It needs loving care and tending.

It needs to be protected from predators and weeds must be pulled.

New things NEED to be planted, old things NEED to be pruned.

Just as an untended garden grows wild and will produce good things as well as life-threatening weeds, it is the same with your heart.

However, you are not the gardener of your heart, God is. You are the soil.

As you invite Jesus in, He waters your soul. As you spend time with Him, the Holy Spirit pulls weeds. As you trust the Father, He plants seeds of faith.

It is a partnership but one that is different than you are used to.

Your most important job is to give God time, opportunity and full access to do His work in your heart.

A quiet, secure heart is of great value to those closest to you as well as the loud, insecure world around you.

Shut the world out and invite Jesus in today to landscape your heart with his amazing grace.

Quiet Words


If you are looking for good advice, ask the quiet person you respect and admire.

Ask the one who knows you and knows Jesus.

Ask the one who doesn’t offer their opinion at every opportunity but rather waits for permission to speak into your life.

Be brave.

Ask the questions you need answers to. If they are wise, they are safe. Seek them out.

If they are loud, manipulative, believe they are always right and get mad when you don’t do what they say…avoid them.

“The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes ‬ ‭9:17 NIV‬

Who has God put in your path to help you?

Don’t let fear stop you from getting the guidance need.
