It’s You

“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!”  Matthew 13:44-46 NLT

In the above verse, Jesus is telling His own story.

The story of a man who found something so precious, that he happily sold all he had and paid the price for it.

Whatever your day looks like, I pray that today you stop for a minute and realize that your Savior sees you as a priceless pearl worth leaving heaven and all His rights for.

The reason He came to earth as a babe was to redeem the treasure that is worth the high price He paid on the Cross- YOU.

It’s you.

He lived, died and rose from the grave so He could love you today and for all eternity.

You are His treasure.

On Hope

“Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.  His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”

2 Peter 1:2-3 NIV

God’s divine power through Jesus has given you everything you need to live the life God has given you.

To the call He has placed upon your life.

That doesn’t mean it will be easy.

If it was easy, you wouldn’t need God’s power to do it.

You will need Him.

You will need His power to keep going in spite of the obstacles, the setbacks, the failures, and the frustrations you are facing.

Good thing you have Him.

The promise is yours.

Grace and peace are yours in abundance.

Anchor your hope on His word and live fearlessly the beautiful life before you.

The Freedom of Forgiveness

“Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.” Matthew 6:12 MSG

Forgiveness sets you free to live the adventure that God has for you.

And it allows you to be free from how others impact you.

Forgiveness is a relationship word that begins with our relationship with God and then with our relationships with others.

And at its heart, forgiveness means to let go.

It is daily to keep us right with God and right with others.

Taking stock, taking responsibility.

Receiving grace, giving grace.

Living forgiven, living forgiving.

Everyday.

Jesus lived like this and then said, “follow me.”

What do you need to ask for forgiveness for?

Who do you need to forgive today?

Your Unique Purpose

You have been made on purpose for a purpose.

God broke the mold when He created you.

There is no one else on earth exactly like you.

You are made to do something as unique as you are.

Others may have similar gifts but there is a call that only you can fill.

Comparing yourself to others will sabotage it and envy will outright destroy it.

To truly fulfill your purpose you are going to have to accept that you are never going to fit in.

God didn’t create you to fit in and doesn’t expect you to. In fact, He is calling you to stand up and stand out. Be different. Be unique. Be you.

“By an act of faith, he lived in the country promised him, lived as a stranger camping in tents. Isaac and Jacob did the same, living under the same promise.” Hebrews 11:9 MSG

God didn’t call Abraham to go to the new country and blend in, he called Abraham to live like a stranger in a strange land. He is calling you to do the same.

Embrace your unique calling and quit trying to fit in.

If you don’t know where to start, begin by asking yourself these two questions:

  1. Who are you?
  2. What breaks your heart?

God’s Purpose For Your Life

“We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but GOD’s purpose prevails.” ‭

PROVERBS 19:21 MSG

God’s purpose for your life is that He would have an unhindered relationship with you through Jesus.

His plan for your life is for His love to restore you completely into who He created you to be.

This life is not about doing all the right things, it is about letting Jesus grow the right things in you.

The wonderful thing about being in a relationship with God is that while our plans don’t always work out, God will always work His purpose into them.

God loves you whether or not your plans fail or succeed.

He loves you.

Should-Haves and What Ifs

“So don’t you see that we don’t owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent. There is nothing in it, nothing at all. The best thing to is to give it a decent burial and get on with your new life. God’s Spirit beckons.”

Romans 8:12-15 (MSG)

What “should haves” are holding you back from being fully present in the beautiful life Jesus has for you?

When God sends you a vision of your future, it is to get you moving in the right direction. When He lays a burden on your heart it is to pull you towards His purpose for you. He will not lift the call but He will refine it. He will not lift the burden to be His change agent in the world but He will redefine it constantly.

And God will never ask you to “do-it-yourself”, His visions always come with a “you-can-only-accomplish-this-with-God” clause.

We can all easily slip into a habit of tending the graves of “what ifs” and “should have dones” but that only hinders us from living in the power of the resurrection life of Jesus.

Life in Christ is meant to be a moment by moment adventure with God.

Give your “should haves” a decent burial and get on with it.

What regret have you been grave tending?

Stay Salty

“You are the salt of the earth.”
Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ NIV

In Jesus’ day, salt was used as valuable currency, as well as a precious food preservative and additive to enhance the flavor of food.

When Jesus said that you are the salt of the earth, He is saying that you are valuable and meant to enhance this world with the flavor of His grace.

You are made to add value. That alone is a gift that so many people are craving- simply the recognition that they are valued and they are valuable to God– so valuable that Jesus paid the ultimate price to love them.

You are anointed to be a precious preservative to the world you live in and in the work you do.

You are being used by God to preserve respect, show dignity and honor those around you.

My friend, wherever God has placed you, whoever He has surrounded you with, whatever job He has given you to do, Jesus has you there for a purpose and to be salty. May God shake you up today and pour you out for someone who desperately needs to know that they are precious and valuable to God.

Stay salty.

What Trips You Up?

“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭24:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What trips you up?

How do you fall?

Is it overthinking, overeating, over-controlling, overworking, oversleeping, over-it-all-so-I-am-quitting everything?

It really isn’t what trips you up that is dangerous, it is what keeps you down when you fall.

You fell.

You are human.

Get up.

You are loved.

God is not done with you.

You have a purpose.

God has a vision for your life.

Get up and take one step toward it today.

Made on Purpose

“By an act of faith, he lived in the country promised him, lived as a stranger camping in tents. Isaac and Jacob did the same, living under the same promise.” (Hebrews 11: 9 MSG)

Dwell

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭91:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The word dwell invokes the picture of where you live.

Where you wake up in the morning, brush your teeth and get ready for your day.

It is the place where all your “stuff” is, no matter how much stuff you have.

It is the place at the end of the day that you surrender to sleep and recharge.

You are made to dwell in the shelter of God’s presence.

To wake to His love, live in His love, rest in His love.

Jesus made it possible so you could live this today and dwell in the shadow of the Almighty’s love everyday after.
