Your Faith

Your faith in God is more precious than the finest of gold. It will last longer than your job, your goals and your body.  It is the eternal life inside of you that sustains you through the trials of the temporary outside life.

“But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”

Job 23:10 NIV

When God tests your faith to purify it. To clarify it. To clean it from dross and impurities. He will use the smallest irritation or the greatest trial to do it. He does not send the trial but He will use it.

The same fire that destroys wood purifies gold.

God can use the very thing that you feel is destroying you to purify you.

He will use the disappointment you are experiencing to make the dross of your heart rise to the surface so He can skim it off.

You have a promise here that God knows where you are, what you are going through and He knows how to use it to do an important work for you.

You will come out of it shining.

Hold onto God during this season because He is most certainly holding onto you.

Grab Hold

The day will come when the work God does in you will be complete.

A day when all your broken parts are mended and all the gaping holes are filled.

A day when God’s work of re-creation is done and you are a new creation, through and through.

But until then, you are in the process of being created new.

Until then, every fiery trial that seems like it will destroy you is purifying you.

God can (and does) use the very things the enemy means for harm, for your good.

“Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine.

When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭6-7‬ MSG

One day you will stand before God healed and whole.

Until then, grab hold of grace and don’t quit.

What new thing is Jesus creating in you?

What old thing is being burned out by your current trial?

Tested

“The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Lord tests the heart of His child not so He can discover what it is in it but so you can.

The crucible is a vessel that can take extreme heat and not melt. It is used to melt the silver so that the impurities of the precious metal will rise to the top. Then the refiner will skim it off the top.

It is the same with your heart. The great Refiner will use the hot fires life to cause the impurities of your heart to be revealed- so you can see them and so He can clear them.

He will bring to the surface the things that are holding you back from loving freely, what is tripping you up in your relationships, what is sabotaging your peace. Things that don’t belong there but have never been processed out.

Don’t be alarmed when Jesus brings uncomfortable and unsightly things to the surface. It is His work and His way to answer the prayer you prayed.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

He creates a pure heart, a clean heart, by bringing up what doesn’t belong there.

Your job is stay in His Hand, deal with what comes up (which almost always begins with repentance or forgiveness) and allow the healing balm of His love make you new.

How is your heart?

What is Jesus bringing up?

What do you need to do with it?
