Trust God Today

img_6841-2

I want to encourage you today that no matter how dark the situation may seem, to trust God to do something about it anyway.

I want to challenge you to dare to trust Him in the desert. There IS a promised land and you are on your way to it.

“When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

My prayer is that you will decide to live your life not based on what you can’t do but on what God can do through you.

Long before he saw the fruit of the promise, Abraham believed God.

Though everything in his life seemed to indicate otherwise, He lived his life, every day, not looking at the impossibility of the promise but in the possibility of God.

Because God initiated it, Abraham believed that God would fulfill it.

I am sure that there were times that Abraham barely believed. I know that there were days that he was only holding on to a bare thread of hope…but he held on.

God can do the impossible in you and through you.

Hold on.

Hold on, my friend, you may have only had a thread of hope but in Christ, that thread is stronger than what you face and will hold against that which you fear.

Through a Prison

“In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel

Ephesians‬ ‭4:1‭ MSG‬‬

In light of this: God can do more than you can ask or imagine.

In light of God’s ability, not your ability.

In light of God’s worthiness, not your worthiness.

In light of God’s power, not your power – RUN on the road God has called you to travel.

God has not called you to run on someone else’s road but your road.

This is your journey, your family, your school, your job, your road.

The road God has called you to travel has more to do with your character than your career- who He wants you to be rather than what he wants you to do for a living.

Paul’s road led him through prison but he did not see it as God’s failure but as an opportunity for God to use him where he was. He saw it as a part of his path.

Paul went to prison but did not stop there nor was he defined by it.

Paul’s identity was defined by his relationship to God through Jesus and by his passion to share that truth with everyone that crossed his path: guards, fellow prisoners, politicians and anyone else who God brought to him.

This is how you are to do it: anchor your identity in Jesus and share the good news of the gospel with every person who crosses your path.

Who are the people you are surrounded by in your everyday life?

This is who God wants to reach through you. This is who God wants to use you to encourage, love, and share the good news of the gospel with today.

Set your heart to love, your hands to serve and your feet to run your road empowered by God’s amazing grace.

You Have a Guide

I grew up about an hour from the beach in Southern California. Unless you know that you are going to the beach, it just feels like you are stuck in the worst freeway traffic of your life. Standstill traffic with smog.

But then you turn a corner and there it is- the sand, the waves, the Southern California beach.

You don’t know what God has for you around the corner, my friend.

Sometimes, you can’t even guess.

The way there may not be pretty or easy but Jesus is faithful to complete what he has started.

Keep going.

“Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭25:4‬ ‭NLT‬

There is more to see, more to do and it is going to be breathtaking.

His Yoke, Your Life, A New Way.

“For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.”

Ephesians 2:10 NET

Instead of asking God to give you strength to live your life, what if you asked Him to show you a different way of living it?

Instead of looking for the reasons why things happened yesterday,  what if you looked for what is possible with God tomorrow?

Instead of assuming your life is already set in motion,  What if you ask God to show you what needs to change in it according to His purposes?

What if you dare to believe that Jesus has more for you?

Because He does.  He already has a path prepared in His heart for you with divine appointments and opportunities to bless on it.

What if today you laid down your to-do list and picked up His? Okay, that sounds crazy so maybe you ask God to show you His to-do list in the midst of yours?

God has unseen paths laid out before you to walk in to be a blessing to people you haven’t even met yet.

Life with Jesus is a journey of overcoming and conquering, first steps and new beginnings. It is an adventure of discovery and healing, of bold moves and humble hearts. It is possible if you are teachable.

If you are available Jesus will use you today.

His yoke, your life, a new way.

Hope Full

god-will-make-a-way

Where you place your hope is important.

If you put your hope in yourself, you will be disappointed – you are human.

If you place your hope in another person, you will be disappointed – they are human.

If you place your hope in hope itself, it is a powerless, empty idea – like a wish.

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm‬ ‭25‬:‭5‬ NIV

Put your hope in God.

Jesus is real, bigger than your situation and does more than just offer you hope, he offers you the truth to walk in.  He teaches you how to walk in it.

He empowers you to be brave, to see his vision for your life and rest in his loving arms while you wait.

My prayer for you today is that you would be filled with the Holy Spirit and walk in his truth.  I believe that your questions will be answered and the path will open up before you when the time is right.

May your hope quotient be full and heart secure in Jesus as you tackle the daily tasks of living and bring glory to Him in everything that you do today.

Stay, Do, Focus, Trust

Turn my way, look kindly on me, as you always do to those who personally love you. Steady my steps with your Word of promise so nothing malign gets the better of me.

Psalm 119:129-136 MSG

Stay on the path God has put you on.

Stay focused on the main goal of this season.

Do what God has given you to do where you are.

Don’t worry about what others are doing.

Don’t wonder where others are going.

Focus on what is important today.

Focus on why you are doing it.

Trust God to finish what He has started in you (because He will).

Ask God to steady your step and walk forward with confidence.
