David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work.
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you.
He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished. (1 Chronicles 28:20 NIV)
In the story above, King David is passing on his plans to build the temple of God to his son, Solomon.
Solomon has been given something to do and his father’s words to him are “be strong and courageous and do the work.”
They are the same words God is giving you today. He has placed within your grasp a task, a direction and a responsibility. It is not an easy task and there will be many times you will be tempted to quit.
Don’t quit.
Do the work.
Courageously, not half heatedly.
Be obedient to what God has given you to do.
When it gets hard (and it will), do not let discouragement suck the hope out of you. You are not alone in this, God is WITH you.
Take it one day at a time.
Do the work.
Lean on God for every step, he will not forsake you.
At the end of it all, you will stand back and be amazed at what you built with God and what he used you to do.
Do the work and leave the worry to
God.
