A Quiet Heart

Living in a loud world requires cultivating a quiet heart.

You may be focusing on your to-do list but God is focused on tending to your heart.

“In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Just as an untended garden grows wild and will produce good things as well as life-threatening weeds, it is the same with your heart.

Your heart needs to be tended to on a daily basis.

New things NEED to be planted, old things NEED to be pruned.

However, you are not the gardener of your heart, God is.

Your heart is the soil.

As you invite Jesus in, He waters your soul. As you spend time with Him, the Holy Spirit pulls weeds. As you trust the Father, He plants seeds of faith.

It is a partnership but one that is different than you are used to.

Your most important job is to give God time, opportunity and full access to do His work in your heart.

A quiet, secure heart is of great value to those closest to you and the loud, insecure world around you.

Shut the world out and invite Jesus in today to do some landscaping in your heart with His amazing grace.

Burden Bearer

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.

Psalm‬ ‭68‬:‭19‬ NIV

Every day brings something new:

  • New choices to make
  • New challenges to face
  • New fears to conquer
  • New burdens to bear

Every day brings old things:

  • Old memories that linger
  • Old mistakes still bearing consequences
  • Old fears that refuse to die
  • Old baggage that demands space and attention

God will bear your burdens every day.

Old, new, heavy or light.

Everyday.

You may not know what burdens will be thrust upon you today but God does.

He stands with open arms and strong shoulders to bear them for you.

What new burden do you need to give to God?

What old burden do you need to give to God?

How can I pray for you today?

New

Every day can be a new beginning.
Or it can be the same old, same old. You choose.

Whether you have been walking with God for twenty minutes or twenty years, he has new things to show you, new things to grow in you, and new things to discover with you today. You are a NEW creation in Him.

What “old” thing needs to go?
What new thing needs to begin?

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)
