With God

“For with God nothing will be impossible.”     ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When God drops a promise in your heart and an opportunity in your lap, you must have faith to go forward.

Grab on to faith like it is your job and obey whatever God asks you to do.

Not because it is easy.

Nothing worth having comes easy.

But if God asks you to do it, He will give you what you need to do it.

With God nothing is impossible.

With God, you can.

Insurmountable Problems

“Have faith in God,”
 Mark 11:22 NIV
Jesus had a teaching moment with his disciples smack dab in the middle of this history-making week. It was right after the Triumphal Entry and before He went to the garden of Gethsemane.
It is easy to miss and easy to misunderstand.
The disciples heard Jesus curse a fig tree on the way to cleanse the Temple.
The tree was advertising fruit with its full leaves but in reality, had none. Jesus is not a fan of false advertising.  On their way back, they saw that it had withered to its roots and was utterly dead.  It wasn’t a winter frost or harsh storm that killed the plant- it was the words Jesus spoke to it.
He told them to “have faith in God”, then gave them an example they would understand:
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
Mark 11:23 NIV
A “mountain” was used in that day to mean any insurmountable problem.
God can overcome any obstacle, no matter how big or immovable it seems.
Jesus reveals the secret of His strength: “Have faith in God”.
Not faith in faith (simply believing whatever you want) or conjuring up a feeling in your heart but faith in God, trusting God.
Today, my friend, speak to your insurmountable obstacle with words of faith and confidence knowing that God can move the immovable.
He has given you words to speak, to pray, and to proclaim.
Speak them out, lift them up and proclaim that with God nothing is impossible.
Then put the outcome in God’s hands.

When It Looks Impossible

In Exodus 14, the Isrealites were stuck between the sea before them and their former slave master’s coming to recapture them.  It looked like they were either going to be re-enslaved or massacred where they stood.

“But Moses told the people,

 “Don’t be afraid.

Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today.

The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again.

The LORD himself will fight for you.

 Just stay calm.”

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Hemmed in by the mountains on both sides,  they had no way out and no way forward. Their new found freedom seemed fleetingly short and ultimately doomed.

They knew that God had delivered them, but little more.

They had not been free long enough to learn how powerful He is.

They didn’t know that He would fight for them.

They didn’t know that He would split the sea before them and rescue them from an impossible situation.

They didn’t know that He would destroy their former slave masters right before their eyes (and destroy the fear of them ever coming back).

They did not know God…yet.

“When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the LORD had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the LORD and in his servant Moses.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When you don’t want to go back but don’t know how your going to go forward- heed the words Moses told God’s people:

Don’t be afraid. Don’t let fear dictate your decisions.

Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you.
Stop trying to fix the situation yourself. Let God work.

The LORD himself will fight for you. You can trust Him.

When it looks impossible, God is not punishing you, He is teaching you more about Himself
