Hit the Restore Button

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:12‬ ‭NIV

I am praying for the wind of restoration to sweep away the cobwebs of the fear and regret that are clinging to your soul.

I am praying for the worries and wonderings of “what if’s” be swept away because what is done is done and today is a new day.

Today is a new day to invite God in.

Today is a new day to embrace the hope you have in Jesus.

Today is your new day to walk in the power and purpose of God.

I am praying that you hit the “restore” button with Jesus. Ask Him to restore to you the joy of your salvation and fill you with vision & hope.

There is a sweet joy that captures the soul the moment you receive the washing away of yesterday and release the white knuckling fear you have for tomorrow.

Put all your yesterdays and tomorrows into God’s hands – He is big enough to handle them.

May you live fully filled up and have a willing spirit to fully engage in what God has given you to do today.

“(It takes eleven days to go from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea by the Mount Seir road.) In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses proclaimed to the Israelites all that the Lord had commanded him concerning them.

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭1:2-3‬ ‭NIV‬

The Israelites had been traveling for 40 years and eleven months on a journey that should have taken 11 days.

They were stuck. God led them into the wilderness but He never intended them to live in the wilderness.

Yes, Jesus has done so much for you and you have come a long way, baby, but don’t get stuck here.

You are not where you were but God is not done with you yet.

He has more for you.

Learning to live a new way is hard but don’t settle for wilderness living when you are called to the promised land in Christ.

Jesus says in John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

It doesn’t matter how long you have settled or how long you have been stuck, what matters is that you hear the word of the Lord calling you forward and reminding you that He has more for you.

Your journey does not end here.

Get up and get ready to fight for all God has for you.

What if?

“Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:29‬a ‭NLT‬‬

What if instead of asking God to give you strength to live your life, you asked him to show you a different way of living it?
What if instead of looking for the reasons why things happened yesterday, you looked for what is possible with God today?
What if instead of assuming your life is already set in motion, you ask God if what your living is His best?
What if you dare to believe He has more for you?
What if you laid down your to-do list and picked up His?
What unseen paths does God have for you today?
Life with Jesus is a journey of overcoming and conquering, first steps and new beginnings. It is an adventure of discovery and healing, of bold moves and humble hearts.
It is possible if you are teachable.
If you are available, Jesus will show you a new way to be, a new way to love, a new way to work and a new way to live your life.
His yoke, your life, new way.

New Way Out

I drove into San Francisco with my husband yesterday morning. After a delightful day in the city, we began to drive out of the city.

But was many people have discovered, it is a lot easier to drive into San Francisco than it is to drive out of it. Especially for those of us who don’t know how. Every street was new to us, we didn’t know where it went or where it might lead.

After feeling like we were going in circles, we pulled up iMaps on the phone and plugged in the audio to come through the radio. Soon a new route was made and directions were given to us.

We obeyed the voice and turn by turn onto unknown streets, we began to exit the city. We trusted that if we followed the directions, we would get to were we wanted to be: home.

If I lived in the city, it wouldn’t have been such a mystery on how to get out. I would have followed the roads I knew, the ones I would always take. But I don’t live there. It is new territory for me and because of it, I depended heavily on iMaps voice.

That is exactly what we do in life: when were are in a new area where we have no experience, we lean heavily on the guidance of God to show us how to go. But in the areas we know, we do what we have always done and take the roads we have always taken. It’s like saying “that is okay God, I’ve got this- I know the rules, I know the ways, I will get out of this in my own”.

The problem is when you surrender your life to God and ask him to make you a new creation- it is ALL new.

He has ways you don’t know about and places to take you that you have never been. He can only take lead you in or lead you out if you are listening to his voice and leaning on his knowledge.

“But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.” (Romans 7:6 NIV)

If you want to learn a new way to live, you must let your old way to live die.

You must obey the voice of God and follow him turn by turn onto unknown paths. He will lead you. You must let your “rules” die and trust that if you follow the new directions that God gives you every day will get to where he wants you to be.

Any place in your life where you find yourself doing what you have always done- stop. Ask God for new directions, a new way out and then listen to his voice then follow it.
