Before your day gets started I want to remind you that it hasn’t happened yet.
It is a day yet to be lived.
It is a page in your story that is unwritten.

Just because your story has been going one way up until today, doesn’t mean it has to continue that way.

Just because you made a bad decision yesterday, doesn’t mean you have to make one today…or tomorrow.

Just because yesterday’s habits were unhealthy doesn’t mean today you have to continue in them.

You choose.

You have the freedom of choice and with Jesus, you have the power to change.

Today is unwritten.
God has a plan.
You have the pen.

Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.

New Story


What narrative plays in the background of your life that fuels your choices and drives your focus?

Is it an old story or your new one in Christ?

Jesus came to change your story.

God has called you to live a different story than the one handed down to you from your parents or the world.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It’s a new way of living, of thinking, of being.

It is a new story with a new ending.

Sometimes you may revert to your old ways, old why’s, the old dialogue, the old labels, old mode of operation but every day is a new day to learn how to live with a new narrative- God’s.

In Christ, you have everything you need to live a new one.

“Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God.

The best invitation we ever received!

We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:3-4‬ ‭MSG

This is not a once-in-a-lifetime change, it is an every-day-opportunity-to-do-it -differently, and learn- to-live-by- the- grace- of -Jesus change.

Take a moment…take a deep breath, and remember you have a new story to live today.

Leave the old one at the cross and embrace the new one with the help of the Holy Spirit.

What story are you living?



What if instead of asking God to give you strength to live your life, you asked him to show you a different way of living it?

What if instead of looking for the reasons why things happened yesterday, you looked for what is possible with God tomorrow?

What if instead of assuming your life is already set in motion, you ask God if what your living is His best?

What if you dare to believe He has more for you?

Life with God is a journey of overcoming and conquering, first steps and new beginnings.

It is an adventure of discovery and healing, of bold moves and humble hearts.

It is possible but it must be intentional.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬ NIV)

What are you asking for?

Friday’s Question


Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways”. (‭Haggai‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ NIV)

This phrase is actually a Hebrew figure of speech that literally means “put your heart on your roads”.

The question God is asking his people in Haggai is “Look at where your headed. If you keep doing what your doing, do you want to go where your going?”

Consider your ways.

Is what your doing today taking you down a road you want to be on tomorrow?

Is it helping you to get closer to who God has called you to be or taking you farther away from it?

What road are you on?

If you don’t want to go that way, stop.

Turn around.

Ask for directions (from God) to get you on the right road.

It is never easy to change, humility is required.

“Wow, I am so glad I waited this long to change” said no one ever.

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭22-23‬ NIV)



Every day can be a new beginning.
Or it can be the same old, same old. You choose.

Whether you have been walking with God for twenty minutes or twenty years, he has new things to show you, new things to grow in you, and new things to discover with you today. You are a NEW creation in Him.

What “old” thing needs to go?
What new thing needs to begin?

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

Page One

A blank page means different things to different people.

It can be frightening- “What am I going to put here, how do I begin?”

It can be freeing- “I can start over, begin again, a fresh start with unlimited possibilities.”

More likely, it is both.

In this blog post from Livebrilliantytoday.com, I was inspired by the realization that God created the world from nothing- a black muddy soup- and that He desires to create new things in my life from nothing. How can you step out in confidence in the brand new things God is calling you to?


“This is what God does, He creates. On page one, God’s Spirit hovered over the void of nothing and created something. This alone should bring us great hope and build our faith because it shows that us that the only thing needed for new creation is God’s desire to do so.”

It is Good Friday. The day I celebrate that the penalty of my sin was paid for. The day that Jesus died so I may live in the full potential of God’s power and grace. The day that Jesus said, It is finished so I can say “It is just beginning”.
