Looking Good

It is easy to assume that if somebody “looks good” on the outside, they must be doing good on the inside.

We even do it to ourselves. When was the last time you looked into mirror to see how you were doing or to see how much you were going to have to fake it today, “How do I look?”

“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.””  1 Samuel‬ ‭16:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Not everyone who looks good on the outside is doing good on the inside.

Just like you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, you can’t judge a person or their life by how it looks on the outside either.

God doesn’t.

He doesn’t judge you or others by the reflection in the mirror but by the condition of your heart. He looks past the outside and delves deep inside.

How is your heart? Does He have access to it?

Is it hurting? Is it full of fear? Are you consumed with self hatred?

God wants to do a work deep inside your heart today.

He wants to heal the hurt.

Displace the fear with faith.

Jesus wants to bring the blinding light of God’s love to the darkness of self-hatred.

The light of Christ will seek out every crevice of darkness in the human heart and illuminate it with His love.

“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬
