All Things

“Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. GOD, your God, is with you every step you take.”
Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ MSG

Today you have a task before you that is too big for you to do on your own.

God knows this too.

He doesn’t intend for you to do it on your own or by yourself.

He intends for you to move forward with Him.

To face the impossible challenge with Him.

If you should keep going forward or if you even have the strength to, hear these words from your Father in heaven:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ NIV

Should you move forward?

Yes
.

Can you?

Yes
.

Why?

Because you can do all things through Him who strengthens you.

By Grace

IMG_0116
You have been saved by grace so that you can:

Love by grace,
Forgive by grace,
Grow by grace,
Give by grace,
Work by grace,
Eat by grace,

LIVE by grace.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8, 9 NIV)

And yet, after we accept Christ’s gift of salvation, we begin to start working on “being better” and “doing better”. We begin to work on being a good Christian. But it doesn’t work, does it?

“Self -improvement is no more God’s plan than self-salvation. God’s plan is not just for us to be saved by grace -it is for us to live by grace. God’s plan is for my daily life to be given, guided, guarded and energized by the grace of a God.”

– John Ortberg,
The Me I Want to Be, pg 39.

May you live fully in and by the grace of God today- given, guided, guarded and energized by it.

Worthy

Who is worthy of love?

We all have our own judgements, our own criteria.

If they are nice, honest, try hard, love you well. If they are related, if they are not related, if they are friendly, if they are faithful, if they do the right things then maybe they are worthy of your love.

Who is not worthy of love?

If they are mean, dishonest, lazy, don’t love you well. If they are related, if they are not related, if they are not friendly, if they are not faithful, if they do the wrong things then maybe they are not worthy of love.

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.” (‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭32 NIV)

God has called you to do more than love those that love you. He has called you to go above and beyond that.

“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid.

Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.

You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.” (‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭35-36‬ NLT)

No, this is not natural, it is supernatural.

And that is the point.
