Hope Full

god-will-make-a-way

Where you place your hope is important.

If you put your hope in yourself, you will be disappointed – you are human.

If you place your hope in another person, you will be disappointed – they are human.

If you place your hope in hope itself, it is a powerless, empty idea – like a wish.

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm‬ ‭25‬:‭5‬ NIV

Put your hope in God.

Jesus is real, bigger than your situation and does more than just offer you hope, he offers you the truth to walk in.  He teaches you how to walk in it.

He empowers you to be brave, to see his vision for your life and rest in his loving arms while you wait.

My prayer for you today is that you would be filled with the Holy Spirit and walk in his truth.  I believe that your questions will be answered and the path will open up before you when the time is right.

May your hope quotient be full and heart secure in Jesus as you tackle the daily tasks of living and bring glory to Him in everything that you do today.

Something Better Than Coffee (gasp)

There is something better than coffee in the morning. Something you need more than caffeine to get you going.

It is hope.

Hope in God will change your perspective, attitude and energy level.

How is your hope quotient? Is it low? Do you need a good strong cup of hope today?

Make some room for God today. Push the stress away, shove the overwhelming avalanche of all that must be done and make room for hope like you are pushing a pile of laundry away to have a place to sit on your bed.

Hope is found in the living Word of God which brings you into the presence of the Almighty God and poured into your heart by the power of the Holy Spirit.

When you make room for hope, you are making room for God to come in and do what you can’t do. You are believing that His power is unlimited and He is able to above and beyond more than you can ask or imagine. Hope enlarges your heart and makes room for faith to grow.

When God fills your spirit up with hope, it is like getting a shot of encouragement and energy:

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

He is the God of hope.

Take the risk and believe in Him and grab onto hope.

Just because you can’t see how what you hope for will happen doesn’t mean it isn’t possible with God.

Yes, hope IS better than coffee to help you navigate your day.

But that doesn’t mean don’t have a cup of coffee in the morning, I would never suggest that.

Hope first, coffee second.

Have a fantastic Hope filled holiday weekend!

Do it Afraid

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭26‬ NIV)

The enemy will gladly use your feelings and emotions to confuse, slow down and stop you from obeying God.

When God asks you to step out in faith, it will always be to do something that is beyond what you can do by yourself.

You will need God’s help to accomplish it. You will need His power, His Strength, His Grace, His mercy- all of it, all of Him,to do what He has asked you to do.

Whenever you face something you can’t do by yourself- fear rises up. That is okay. You are not supposed to “do it by yourself”. You are supposed to do it “with God”.

So when it comes to obedience: do it afraid. The feelings are natural when what God is asking you to do isn’t.

God is asking you to trust, to obey, to step out in faith and do something with Him.

To reach out. To love. To forgive. To share. Whatever “it” is, do it afraid.

Don’t wait for the feeling to leave- it will not.

Feelings don’t dictate your obedience, they only indicate how much you need to depend on God.

Do it anyway.
Obey anyway.
Step out in faith anyway.
Do it afraid.

Stick Around

You are tempted to give up when:

– you have done all you can and nothing has changed.

– when you feel helpless to make things right.

-when you feel ignored.

But hope is not based on what you can do, it is based on what God can do.

But me, I’m not giving up. I’m sticking around to see what GOD will do. I’m waiting for God to make things right. I’m counting on God to listen to me. (‭Micah‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬ MSG)

Renewed Hope

Renewed hope in a jar.

What a great idea- wouldn’t you like to have it on your bedside table to apply every night or on your counter to put on every morning?

I would.

Then, no matter how the days run together and the to-do list gets long (and undone), I could simply put on some hope. It could absorb into my heart and the amazing energy that hope brings would recharge my spirit.

Hope in a jar.

Alas, the product is simply moisturizer for the skin.

I need hope for the soul.

I was searching the Word and came to one of my favorite verses, Isaiah 40:27-31. I know it best in NIV but wanted to see what how Message Version put it:

“Haven’t you been listening?

GOD doesn’t come and go. God lasts.

He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.

He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.

And he knows everything, inside and out.

He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts.

For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall.

But those who wait upon GOD get fresh strength.

They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭27-31‬ MSG)

Fresh strengthyes, please.

Renewed hope for my soul comes from knowing that God lasts, he knows everything about me and still chose me.

I can’t actually get renewed hope from a jar but I can get it from God himself.

Next time you are tempted to give up hope or drop out (whatever that means to you), don’t reach for a jar- reach for God.

He has exactly what you need.
