It is time to learn how to fight right.
It is time to use the right weapons.
Just as an arrow has no impact on a tank or a sword presents no competition to a gun, what you fight with matters. It makes a big difference.
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.”
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV)
You can’t fight the spiritual battle you are engaged in with the same weapons the world likes to employ: self-confidence, will power, positive thinking.
None of those actually work but they make people feel better because they have the illusion of being in control.
So how do we fight bravely and fiercely enabled by God’s power?
It is not with the world’s weapons but with God’s ways:
Repent
Repentance is a sin breaking, grace receiving lifestyle.
Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. (Matthew 3:8 NIV)
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. (Matthew 23:12 NIV)
Receive
You are no longer a slave who lives in fear, but a child who has direct access to your Heavenly Father.
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15 NIV)
Restore
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (Psalm 51:12 NIV)
When you repent, receive and restore in a daily basis you are fighting the good fight, God’s way and laying waste to the enemies’ schemes in your life!
