Need Strength?

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” – ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:29‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Inexplicably and when it seems completely impossible, God will give you strength.

Strength to get up.

Strength to take care of what needs to be taken care of.

Strength to make hard decisions.

Strength to hold onto hope.

Strength to hold onto Him.

He gives strength to the weary.

I know that many of you are facing situations that are draining your strength and leaving you feeling powerless.

It is okay to admit you are not okay and that you are tired and feel powerless right now.

God does not ask you to “fake it until you make it”, He asks you to receive His grace for one more day.

Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. – ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What do you need strength for today?

What does it look like to admit you need help rather than “fake it until you make it”?

I am praying for you today. I am praying that you find the strength to do what needs to be done, find your way into His rest, and walk forward in a power that is not your own.

Surrounded

“Because of the Master, we have great confidence in you. We know you’re doing everything we told you and will continue doing it. May the Master take you by the hand and lead you along the path of God’s love and Christ’s endurance.”

2 Thessalonians 3:4-5 MSG

My prayer for you today is simple: that you would know that God’s love surrounds you.

You are surrounded by LOVE.

Love surrounds you when you get up in the morning

Love surrounds you throughout the day.

Love surrounds you as you lay down to sleep.

You are surrounded by God every minute of every day.

You may not feel it, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there or that it isn’t true.

God is true and He is there.

No matter what you are facing today, I have great confidence in you.

I know you are trusting God with the impossible and depending on Him as your faith in Him grows.

As you walk with God, may He fill you with peace that passes your understanding and an endurance to keep going.

I pray that today you will be aware of God and the love He is surrounding you with.

Do Yourself A Favor

You need to rest physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

What does rest look like in real life?

It looks like:

Pausing the relentless cycle of thoughts fueled by anxiety and the need to control everything and everyone.

Getting out and enjoying nature.

Laughing with your friends.

Playing your favorite game with your favorite people.

Reading a good book.

Turning from fear of tomorrow and leaning into trusting God for today.

Resting is one of the most powerful things you can do.

Isaiah 30:15 says, “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength,” (NIV)

Do yourself a favor and rest in God’s power today.

Limitless

Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.-EPHESIANS 3:20 THE PASSION TRANSLATION

To doubt is to be human.

We don’t trust each other and we don’t trust God.

We have been hurt and we have been let down.

We are not sure of so many things in life and doubt gives us a chance to step back and look again before making a decision.

But one thing you never have to doubt is the power of God’s love.

You don’t have to think twice that God can do the impossible in you.

That He can accomplish in you what you can not accomplish in yourself.

When you turn yourself over into His open hands, into His powerful love – He gets to work.

His love transforms, energizes, heals and forgives.

His love recreates, redeems and restores.

His love inspires, empowers and enables you to become who He created you to be.

And in the process you get to see Him do in you and through you more than you could ask or imagine.

Hold Tight

“Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:23 ‭MSG

When you are feeling overwhelmed with the task before you, it is important to keep a firm grip on the promises of God.

Like this one:

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

 ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It is God that does the transforming work in you and it is God who continues it.

It is His work, not yours.

In the light of God’s saving love, my life’s work is to focus on my relationship with Him.

I get to focus on growing my relationship with God, growing my trust in God and let Him grow me.

He always keeps His word and will be faithful to complete the good work He started in your life.

Hold tight to His love and His promises.

God will not let you go.

Enough For All

God’s love is so expansive that there is room enough for you and room enough for every person you know.

The cross does not have a “Limited Space Available” sign on it.

Jesus stretched out His arms for all.

God has embraced you and placed you within the unearned luxury of His love.

“But because God was so gracious, so very generous, here I am.

And I’m not about to let his grace go to waste.”

1 Corinthians 15:10 MSG

Don’t let fear hold you back from living in and giving God’s grace to someone who needs it today.

Return and Reset

Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.”

Psalm 116:7 NIV

Don’t let a bad attitude rob you of a good opportunity.

When the world crowds in on you and makes you feel claustrophobic with all the “things needed ASAP”, it is good to take a moment to chill out and remember that God is good and has been good to you.

Breathe in the truth that He loves you right now, where you are.

His love can reset your perspective and return your internal state from “fret” to “rest.”

Unwind your worry.

Reset your soul.

God has called you to be a change-maker where you are.

The very best way to change your attitude is by reminding yourself who God is and who you are in Christ.

He will give you everything you need, including reminding you to get out of the way.

Let go of all the things you can’t control today and reset the one thing you can – your attitude.

What does re-setting your soul to rest in Jesus look like for you today?

The Why of Christmas

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 NIV

The heart of Christmas is the heart of God revealed through Jesus.

The why of Christmas is because God didn’t want heaven without you.

The promise of Christmas is that no matter who you are, Jesus came so that you could be in a thriving relationship with God today and for every day after until you step into eternity.

God’s Purpose For Your Life

“We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but GOD’s purpose prevails.” ‭

PROVERBS 19:21 MSG

God’s purpose for your life is that He would have an unhindered relationship with you through Jesus.

His plan for your life is for His love to restore you completely into who He created you to be.

This life is not about doing all the right things, it is about letting Jesus grow the right things in you.

The wonderful thing about being in a relationship with God is that while our plans don’t always work out, God will always work His purpose into them.

God loves you whether or not your plans fail or succeed.

He loves you.

His Grace is Sufficient

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

I am so glad I don’t have to pretend to be perfect.

I am glad that the more I embrace my weakness, I am given the key to walk confidently in God’s strength, power, and peace.

Not by willing myself to be strong but by laying down the illusion I have to be.

Not by working for God’s approval but by resting in His love.

Not by memorizing words but by allowing the grace of God to permeate every fiber of my soul.

Are you done trying to be perfect?

Good.

Now may you truly rest in the abundance of God’s amazing, all encompassing grace delivered to you wrapped in the love of Jesus.
