There

“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”

Psalm 139:7-10 NIV

No matter where you are – God is with you.

He is there in the light and joyous seasons as well as the heavy and dark ones.

He is there when everything falls apart and there when everything comes together.

He is there when everything suddenly changes to bring encouragement, strength, direction, peace, and joy drawn from the unchangeable depths of grace that you will never be able to exhaust.

Wherever you are, God is with you.

With You

God IS with you.

He is the creator of the universe and He is with you.

Present tense.

He does not reside in the past although He will heal it.

He does not jump ahead to the future unknowables and fear filled wonderings although He knows His will for it.

He is here with you.

Now.

Right where you are.

The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.

Selah

Psalms 46:11 NKJV

The “Selah” at the end of the Psalm is a word that means “pause and think about it”.

Take this moment, this one right here,  to pause whatever you are in the middle of and think about the reality that God IS with you.  He is the gift, the miracle and the privilege to be experienced every day.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”

Philippians 4:4 NIV

May your day be filled with Selah, the awe, and wonder that God is with you and the desire to have a conversation with Him all day long.

God is Waiting For You

“But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right—everything.  Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones.
Isaiah 30:18

When the boys were in elementary school they got out at 2:20pm and I would try to get to the school at the latest by 2:00pm so I can get a good spot in the pickup line. If you have ever experienced the stress of picking your child up in the craziness that is the end of an Elementary school day, you know how important this is.

One day I had to pick them up early from school and as we walked from classrooms to the car, Kyle looked at all the cars waiting in line and said: “Oh, they are already here?” Then he said, “I thought you just got here right when school is out”. I said, “Nope, if I waited until then I’d be way in the back of the line, so I get here early so I can be right on time for you.”

As I pulled in to wait in the pickup line the next day, I thought about Kyle’s perception, “I thought you just got here right when school was out.”

We forget that most things are not always as they seem but only as we see them.

Just as I made a point to be at the school early so that I can be “on time” for the boys, so God is working in ways we can’t see and don’t know about in our lives. He is going ahead, preparing the way and getting His grace and power ready to be right on time in our lives.

Even as we pray, Jesus is preparing to be right on time.

I can’t see what God is doing “behind the scenes” in my life or in yours, but I know He is working. I don’t know how he is going to meet your need, but I know He will. I don’t even have to worry about the whys or hows. I only have to “wait” for Him which means to expect, look and long for Him, for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship!”

I am praying that you will experience God’s matchless, unbroken companionship today. That you will know that while you may be surprised about what is happening in your life, Jesus is not.

He is ready and waiting for you with His love, peace, victory, favor, and joy to give you what you need today.

Journey

IMG_0171.JPG

Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in.

He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you.

It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God. (‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭18-21‬ MSG)

Your life is a journey.

The treasure, the abundant life of it comes when you begin each day with the awareness that Christ is with you.

His journey to the cross was so that you could have the opportunity to take your journey with God.

He took your sin so that you could take his salvation. He paid the price for it and broke the power of it so you don’t have to live in it. Not one more day.

Yet, how easy is it to just forget? To slip into old habits and old mindsets. To go through the day on your own strength, doing your best and maybe saying a prayer for assistance.

You don’t have to live like that.

You can live with a deep awareness that God is with you, will empower you and desires to work through you.

It is your journey and Christ has already chosen you. Everyday you get an opportunity to remember that and live differently.
