Your why

We justify our actions by appearances; GOD examines our motives.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21:2‬ ‭MSG‬‬
Your motives are the “why” behind the “what” of your life.
When you are soul drained, the simplest tasks can begin to feel like heavy burdens.  You slip into autopilot and just go through the motions.  Your “why” is to survive, to make it through one more day.
Survival is a good “why” to make it through hard things but it is not meant to be your permanent state of being.
God has more for you today.
He is the God of inside workings, attitude makeovers, perspective shifters. He is the forgiving God, the wipe the slate clean and start over God. He is the miracle-making God, creating something out of nothing God with just one word from His mouth.
Your Heavenly Father created you in love, to love and to be loved. God so loved you that He sent His Son as a sacrifice to restore you to Himself.  He did not do it out of duty, He did it out of love. He does not live out of duty but out of love and wants the same for you.
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NIV
When your why comes from love it feeds your spirit and invigorates your soul. Duty devoid of it drains it.
May the God of the inside workings give your attitude a makeover from duty doer to lit up lover.  May the forgiving God wipe clean the slate of the past and help you start over today.  May the miracle making God, create something out of nothing and fill you so full of His love that it overflows onto those around you.
Are you living in survival mode or love mode?
What’s your why today?

The Horizon

faith-is-the-daring-of-the-soul-to-go-farther-than-it-can-see-11

Where are you headed?
What are you believing God for?
What does God have on your horizon?

When your eyes are on the ground as you walk, you can only see the next step and it can seem like you are not going anywhere at all.

Look up from your feet.

See farther down the road.

See with eyes of faith what might be there and keep walking forward.

“Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you.

Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is.

See things from his perspective.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:1-2‬ ‭MSG‬‬

The road you are on may feel long but God knows where it’s headed and knows why you are on it. He wants to share His perspective with you. He wants you to see what He sees.

If you are struggling today with anxiety or discouragement, I’m asking Jesus to pour His faith into your heart and show you His vision for your future.

Don’t give up, look up.

Don’t quit now, God has more for you.

The best is yet to come.

Stuck

“(It takes eleven days to go from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea by the Mount Seir road.) In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses proclaimed to the Israelites all that the Lord had commanded him concerning them.

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭1:2-3‬ ‭NIV‬

The Israelites had been traveling for 40 years and eleven months on a journey that should have taken 11 days.

They were stuck. God led them into the wilderness but He never intended them to live in the wilderness.

Yes, Jesus has done so much in you and you have come a long way, baby but don’t get stuck here.

You are not where you were but God is not done with you yet.

He has more for you.

Learning to live a new way is hard but don’t settle for wilderness living when you are called to the promised land in Christ.

Jesus says in John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

It doesn’t matter how long you have settled or how long you have been stuck, what matters is that you hear the word of the Lord calling you forward and reminding you that He has more for you.

Your journey does not end here.

Get up and get ready to fight for all God has for you.
