Prayer is Precious

Qte-5
Another precious thing we all have access to during this time is the invitation to pray.
Prayer that is undefined, unpracticed and unscripted.
Honest prayers, fearful prayers, desperate prayers, prayers too deep for words.
All kinds of prayers from all kinds of people in all kinds of situations.

“You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry.”

Psalm 10:17 NIV

You need to know that there is Someone who will hear you, listen to you, sit with you and encourage you. To give you wisdom and guidance. To remind you that you are cherished and loved. Someone who promised to never leave you without support (Hebrews 13:5).

Because of Jesus, you have access to a Father who loves you and listens to you. He knows what is happening, what will happen and what you will need to get through it.

He is available today to hear you out, listen to you, sit with you and encourage you. To give you wisdom and guidance. To remind you that you are cherished and loved today regardless of where you are and what you are facing.

We often look to the outcome of circumstances as proof that God is real and loves us. The proof was provided at the cross. There Jesus unlocked access for all who want it into the presence of the eternal God.

Whatever you are facing today, you are not alone and you can pray.

Pour out your heart to God.

Before You Face the World Today

Qte-4

“Father, Reveal who you are today.”
Matthew 11:2 MSG

How you see God impacts how you pray.

Understanding who God really is impacts how you talk to Him. Talking with a good, good Father is very different from talking to a distant divine judge (which is how I used to see God).

Jesus said God is your Father who loves you and to ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

The most life-transforming moments happen when God reveals who He is to you. The moments that you realize that He is proud of you, loves you with an unwavering constancy and is yearning to spend time with you.

This is just the tip of the iceberg – a lifetime of loving Him will barely scratch the surface of His love.

Jesus said to ask God to reveal Himself to you today.

You don’t need a lot of words.

You don’t need a lot of time.

You only need to ask and be open to receive it.

Then, be ready to be amazed.

That is it.

That is everything.

Before you get face to face with all that is happening in the world today, get face to face with your Father and let Him love you.

Ready to Help

Faith is trust.

Striving is not the solution.
Stressing out is not the solution.
Surrender is the solution.

Surrender yourself to God.
Surrender your situation to God.
Surrender your fears to God.

This isn’t about giving up but it is very much about giving over of yourself into God’s hands.

Not because you understand how God can work a miracle but by believing He can work a miracle.

Surrender is about trusting Him to be who He is your loving Father.

Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you, we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter what.

Who or what can get to me?”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5-6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Surrender your fears and embrace faith in your loving heavenly Father who sent His Son to die for you so that He could have you for all of eternity.

He is faithful.

He will not fail you.

He will not abandon you.

Your Father is here, ready to help.

What do you need help with today?

Be Loved

5243637_orig

You are loved.

You are loved every day of your life and will be loved every day until your death and then beyond into eternity.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You Are Loved.

Because of the cross, nothing can separate from the love of your Heavenly Father and therefore nothing should separate you from it.

Not fear.

Not shame.

Not worry.

All of these were taken and paid for by Jesus so that you can live in the glorious freedom of being a cherished child of God.

Nothing to prove.

Nothing to fear.

Nothing to lose.

You can experience your life like a child who feels safe and secure: explore, enjoy and play.

So explore.

Enjoy.

Play.

Beloved, live loved today.

Believe God Anyway

img_6841

Abraham was first named “father” and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing.

When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I want to encourage you today that no matter how dark the situation may seem to believe that God can do something about it anyway.

I want to challenge you to dare to trust Him in the desert – there is a promised land and you are on your way to it.

My prayer for you is that like Abraham you will decide to live today not based on what you can’t do but on what God can do through you. His power sustaining you to walk, to love, to care and to be fully alive even though you may feel dead inside.

Long before he saw the fruit of the promise, Abraham believed God anyway. Though everything in his life seemed to indicate otherwise, He lived his life, every day, not looking at the impossibility of the promise but in the possibility of God.
Because God initiated it, Abraham believed that God would fulfill it.

I am sure that there were times that Abraham barely believed. I know that there were days that he was only holding on to a bare thread of hope…but he held on.

Hold on, my friend, you may have only had a thread of hope but in Christ, that thread is stronger than what you face and will hold against that which you fear.

I know you don’t see how it will happen but God does. He can see how and he knows when.

Hold on.

Hold on to Jesus…He is holding onto you.

Revealed

“Father, Reveal who you are today.”
Matt. 11:2 MSG

Understanding who God is changes how you pray.

Jesus also knows that the most life-transforming moments happen when God reveals who He is to you.

He said to ask for it.

You don’t need a lot of words.

You don’t need a lot a time.

You need to ask and be ready to see.

Be ready to be amazed.

That is it.

That is everything.

How is God revealing himself to you today?

What are you holding onto?

let-your-faith-be-bigger-than-your-fear-quote-1

One morning in Church during worship, a familiar fear wondered into my mind. With my hands already lifted in worship, I felt the Lord say to me, “You can hold onto your fear, or you can give it to me but you can’t do both.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Cast means to toss. You can’t throw something without letting it go.

All – every irrational fear, every overwhelming worry. as they come.

Your – they are not God’s anxieties but He will take them.

Anxiety – the word used here means to be drawn in different directions. Literally means to be torn apart.

On Him – where to put what is tearing you apart. Jesus is strong enough to carry them, no matter how heavy they are. He will not remove the circumstances that are causing you anxiety but he will walk you through them and teach you how to deal with them.

Because He Cares – this is a present active verb as in “caring right now in this present moment”

For You – yes, YOU.

God is caring for you right now.

The quote “Don’t tell me that worry doesn’t work, because what I worry about doesn’t happen” used to be one of my favorites before I met Jesus.

God doesn’t want fear to be the center of your life. Your Father in heaven wants to be the center of your life.

You can hold onto your fears or you can hold onto faith but you can’t do both.

Hold onto faith.

Revealed

“Father, Reveal who you are today”.
Matt. 11:2

Understanding who God is changes how you pray.

Jesus knows God.

He also knows that the most life changing, life transforming moments happen when God reveals who He is to you.

You don’t need a lot words.

You don’t need a lot a time.

You need to ask and be ready to see.

Be ready to be amazed.

That is it.

That is everything.

How is God revealing himself to you today?

Begin

Today is a good day to begin.

Begin to pray differently.

Begin to pray with open hands and open eyes.

Instead of praying with closed hands, holding on so desperately to what you are afraid to let go of, pray with open hands and let God be God.

Present your requests, petitions, hopes and desires to Him and them let Him do what only He can do. Give them to Him and leave the results to Him. Release your expectations of how He should answer while at the same knowing that He will answer.

Today is a good day to begin asking God to reveal Himself to you.

“(Pray) Like this: Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. Matthew 6:9 MSG “

Instead of praying, “God, this is who I want you to be”, begin to pray, “God reveal who You are to me.”

It will transform your life.
He wants to.
He will.

Begin today to pray different.

When was the last time you asked simply God to reveal Himself to you or in your situation?”

How hard is it for you to leave the results to God?

What does it mean for you to let God be God in your life?
