Yes, Rest.

Rest doesn’t have a season.

It isn’t optional.

You need it, every day.

You need rest for your body and for your soul, spirit, and mind.

“Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭34:21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You need to rest, refresh, recharge in all seasons but especially in the busiest ones.

It isn’t optional.

It’s how God made you and it is the way to optimize the gifts He has given you to fulfill the purpose He has placed before you.

What refreshes your spirit?

What rejuvenates your mind?

What feeds your soul?

Just Us.

There is no such thing as “us” and “them” in the kingdom of God.

There is just us.

“Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“One who has been touched by grace will no longer look on those who stray as “those evil people” or “those poor people who need our help.” Nor must we search for signs of “love-worthiness”.  Grace teaches us that God loves because of who God is, not because of who we are.”

– Phillip Yancey

We are all in need of the grace and mercy of Godeveryday.

Pray

Prayer is what makes a difference in you so that God can make a difference thru you.

When you pray for others, you will begin to see them from God’s perspective, no matter who they are.

God has placed you where you are,
for however long, to make an eternal impact.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”

Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭8-10‬ NIV

You don’t have to know how God will use you, you just have to know why: to love.

Pray for those God has put around you and love them.

Live as a child of the Light where you are.

Put yourself in God’s Hands and let Him take care of the rest.

God’s Will

Stop agonizing over messing up God’s will for your life and focus on not missing God in your life

Jesus died on the cross to reconcile a divine relationship that was impossible before it. Now that the relationship has been restored by Him so many people live their lives ignoring Him. Don’t be that person who relegates this divine relationship to scheduled times of church and worship.

There is so much more for you. Jesus wants to live life with you.

Just the simple awareness of God interacting in your day changes everything.

You do not journey alone,
He walks with you.
You don’t do your job alone,
He is there with you.
You don’t go to school alone,
He is in each class with you.
You do not clean your house alone,
Jesus is with you.

You walk on earth but Jesus wants to break through in your everyday moments and everyday responsibilities.

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.

Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.

Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.

Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Stop worrying about missing God’s will for your life and focus on not missing God in your life.

Walk in the awareness of God in your everyday moments and you will discover you ARE walking in His will.

Everyday Endeavors

One of the most beautiful things you can do for yourself and for those around you is to strip down your relationship with God to daily offerings of worship in your everyday endeavors.

Making the small mundane things that you do every day like making breakfast, doing the dishes, driving to school, being at work and offering them to God as moments of gratitude.

Doing homework , housework, or career work and offering it to God to bless, fills your silent moments with joy and purpose.

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1 MSG‬‬

You often ask God:
“How do you want to use my life?”
And He answers:

“Today.”I want to use your today.

“I want to use your today to have heaven break through to earth and to infuse My presence into the smallest of things.”

The very best of offerings to God can be the very smallest of them.

Moments of monotony.

Offerings of  unseen simplicity.

Little altars of normal and boring and
nonimportant can become a precious gifts to an in-the-moment relationship building God.

Don’t get caught up in the world’s view of important because God’s definition of important is a daily relationship with you.

You.

Your life and all it’s nonapplause worthy moments.

When you make your everyday endeavors an offering to God, you will find yourself enjoying the abundant life He has promised you.

Daily

Every day brings something new to the table.

New choices to make.

New challenges to face.

New fears to conquer.

New burdens to bear.

The day also brings old things already on the table.

Old memories that linger.

Old mistakes still bearing consequences.

Old fears that refuse to die.

Old baggage that demand space and attention.

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. (‭Psalm‬ ‭68‬:‭19‬ NIV)

Everyday God will bear your burdens.

Old, new, heavy or light.

Everyday.

You may not know what burdens will be thrust upon you today but God does.

He stands with open arms and strong shoulders to bear them for you.

Let Him. Trust Him. Rest in Him.
