Not Empty Handed

“And when you release them, do not send them away empty-handed.”

Deuteronomy 15:13 NIV

My friend, when you have been released to live a new life in Christ you do not begin your new life empty-handed.

In the Old Testament when God laid out to the Israelites how their community would work, He put in a clause to assure that those who found themselves in desperate financial situations would have a way out. If they sold themselves into slavery to survive, they would not have to stay a slave forever – it could only last 7 years. Then their owner must release the slave and send them away with the means to begin a new life.

It was called The Lord’s Release.

Jesus is the fulfillment of The Lord’s Release.

God will use what the enemy meant for harm to bring you good and fill your hands with blessings.

God will give you what you need when you need it.

You are not empty handed as a child of God.

He may not show you the end of the new road you are on but He will give you the strength to take each step on it.

You are provided for, equipped and empowered to walk in freedom in Christ today.

Go after all God has called you to do!

Stop Trying to be Normal

I want to remind you that there is no such thing as “normal”.

Life does not move in simple horizontal lines, plotting along connecting dots.

We are not given a coloring page per season of life and asked to simply color inside the lines.

Life happens…death happens. Circumstances arise that are far out of your control but with Jesus, you are created to deal with the reality.

You are empowered to fill the need presented to you with all the gifts and grace God has given to you.

You are a child of God who has been made to rise to the occasion. To deal with the reality. You have been empowered to fill the need presented to you with all the gifts and grace God has given to you.

“Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.”

Romans 12:2 MSG

Don’t worry about defining yourself within your culture. Don’t limit yourself by trying to find a place to fit. Do all that you are called to do, all that you are called to be, in the season you find yourself in, with the tools that you have in your hands.

With bold and strong colors – fill in the lines of your season then draw outside of them. Live outside of the lines of other’s expectations. Your voice matters. What you are doing is important. Your input is vital and needed.

Quit trying to be normal and live boldly in faith today.

Freedom

love-quotes_4293-3

“Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.”

Galatians 5:1 MSG

Don’t let the enemy deceive you into believing are still a slave to your flesh and subject to it’s every whim.

You are not a slave to your flesh, you are a child of God.

You are chosen, loved, provided for and empowered to live your life in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You belong to Christ and you have permission to live like it.

What is keeping you in bondage?

What does freedom from that look like today?

Nothing is stronger than God’s love for you.

Live loved.

Present not Perfect

God has called you to live your life not perform it. Your life is not about you being perfect, it is about you being totally present in it.

He created you to be alive and active.  To get tired, frustrated, give, take, learn, fail and grow.  To embrace reality.

No, it is not perfect. It’s broken and challenging and difficult.

It’s different than you thought it would be and Jesus is doing a new beautiful thing right in the middle of all it.

Jesus doing a new beautiful thing in the middle of you.

Be empowered to be present right where you are.

“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out!

Isaiah 43:18 MSG

May you be free from the narrative of the past to live fully in the newness of God’s present work in you and be empowered to face the reality of your life as you walk in His unique, personal, powerful expression of grace and purpose today.

Not Normal

Yes, This

“I am the Lordʼs servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:38‬ ‭NIV‬‬

May your word to me be fulfilled.

Yes, this.

How many times have you wished that the Lord would show up and just tell you what was about to happen? You think that maybe if you knew what would happen, you would be better prepared to handle it.

Mary had that opportunity. The Lord showed up and told her what her story would be. She would be “the virgin” of Isaiah 7:14. Mary was a good Jewish girl, she would know what that meant.

It is one thing to know what it means and another to live through it.

She would be rejected before she was accepted, desperate before she was provided for, slandered long before she was ever believed. She knew the road before her would not be easy and the story she had imagined for her life would be drastically different…but she said yes. She said, “I am the Lord’s servant. May your word to me be fulfilled”.

Yes, this:

– Saying yes when you know it will be hard.

– Trusting God when things are not happening the way you thought they would.

– Following God when He leads you to stop what your doing with no discernible reason.

I believe is the great mercy of God that He leads us one step at a time.

I believe God has a plan for your life and is able to bring it to pass.

I believe it will be harder than you thought it would be but more worth it than you can imagine.

Yes, this.

Don’t be afraid. God will empower to walk in His purposes and guide you faithfully through every challenge that comes.

You will never know what God can do through you unless you say yes like this.
