Your Amazing Race

“In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel.

Ephesians‬ ‭4:1‭ MSG‬‬

In light of this: God can do more than you can ask or imagine.

In light of God’s ability, not your ability.

In light of God’s worthiness, not your worthiness.

In light of God’s power, not your power – RUN on the road God has called you to travel.

God has not called you to run on someone else’s road but your road

This is your journey, your family, your school, your job, your road.

The road God has called you to travel has more to do with your character than your career- who He wants you to be rather than what he wants you to do for a living.

Paul’s road led him through prison but he did not see it as God’s failure but as an opportunity for God to use him where he was. He saw it as a part of his path.

Paul’s identity was defined by his relationship to God through Jesus and by his passion to share that truth with everyone that crossed his path: guards, fellow prisoners, politicians and anyone else who God brought to him.

Anchor your identity in the love of Jesus and share the good news of the gospel with every person who crosses your path.

Stop waisting your time by comparing your race with someone else’s.

Run your amazing race and let others run their own today.

Small Worries

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?”

Luke 12:25, 26 NIV

Small worries can become big distractions.

They distract you from living loved and loving fearlessly.

What are you worried about today, my friend?

Is it something that is in your hands to change or something out of your control?

If it is something within your power to change, I am asking Jesus to give you the courage to do it. To step out in faith, following His leading and do what you can do.

If it is something out of your control, something you have no power to change, I am asking Jesus to meet you in the place of your fear and give you the power to release it to Him. You may not have the power to change it but He does.

Jesus is bigger than your fear and able to provide what you need.

May a small worry be transformed into a powerful moment to release and trust in the One who holds the universe (and you) in the palm of His hand today.

Being Aware

“But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:11 MSG‬‬

If you are aware of anything today – be aware of God.

If you are afraid of anything – be afraid of getting so busy making a living that you miss making a life.

If you have to make a do to list – put living in the joy of the Lord #1.

Take care of what you need to take care of today but make room for God to interrupt, intervene and weave His perspective into each thing you must do.

Are you so busy that you are oblivious to God?

What does being aware of God’s presence mean to you?

How can you make that happen?

May the awareness of God supersede all else as you are embraced by a Savior who loves you unconditionally and completely.

Parking Spaces

Whether you are headed on a short trip or a long journey, you are gonna have to pull over.

To refill the gas tank, check the tires, fill your stomach or stretch your legs. You pull off the street and into a parking space.

Parking spots are meant to be temporary stopping places not final destinations.

The point is to do what you need to do while parked and then get back out there on the road.

Don’t get stuck at the rest stop.
Don’t start living at the gas station.
Get a move on.

Remember the reason you got in your car in the first place.

Remember where you wanted to go.

Whatever your definition of success is, I would bet that you haven’t gotten there yet. I would hope so or else you have aimed too low.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Don’t get distracted.

Don’t settle.

Don’t make a temporary parking space, your stopping place.

Get back on the road the God has for you and go after it.
