Stubborn and Courageous

Motivation quote: “Be stubborn about your goal, and flexible about your methods.” – GnomeAngel.com

Change doesn’t occur without courage.

It takes a special kind of stubbornness to start a new thing in your life and to change the course of it.

It is a stubbornness to keep going against the odds and swim against the current.

Life in Christ means that you are being called upon to be a pioneer. He is calling you to be the first in your family to stay married, to break the cycle of unhealthy habits or to break the cycle of emotional or physical abuse.

But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion. It won’t be long now, he’s on the way; he’ll show up most any minute. But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust; if he cuts and runs, I won’t be very happy. But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:32-39‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God is asking you to be a change-maker and to be stubborn about it.

Be stubborn about your goals but flexible about your methods.

Jesus never did the same miracle twice.

Each one was different and unique.

Be creative, use what God has given you and fight for change.

Change worth having is worth fighting for.

Go ahead – be stubborn and courageous today.

Trust, Dwell, Enjoy

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

After yesterday’s command of “ Do Not Fret” comes the how: Trust in the LORD.

Trust means to lean on and be boldly confident in.

You can be boldly confident in the Lord because He knows what is happening even if you do not. He not only sees the short game – what will happen right now, but He also sees the long game – what will happen down the line.

Trust and do good.

While you trust in God, don’t be idle.

Be productive and creative right where you are.

Dwell in the land – focus your energy on being present today and fully committed to embracing the small moments of wonder and joy.

This season will change and a new season will be upon you before you know it.

Don’t be so focused on what you can’t see that you miss what you can.

Someone within the reach of your grasp needs a hug, needs prayer, needs someone to encourage them – be that someone.

This is your land – where you are today. Make the most of it. Invest in it. Decorate the walls and take pictures of it.

Celebrate what God has given you.

Whatever your day may bring, my friend, I am going to ask you to move the focus of your energy from fretting to trusting.  Lean on Jesus and ask him to sharpen your senses to see the wonder around you.

Trust. Dwell. Enjoy.

How are you leaning on Jesus today?

What do you need to be doing while you trust God?

What are you celebrating?

Your Creative Best

“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.” (‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭4-5‬ MSG)

You are an original.

The life you live is distinct and different from any other life that has ever been lived. Others may have things in common with you, there are others whose lives might be similar, but none that have your exact experience, have made your exact choices or have reacted to situations the way you have.

You are unique.

Is it any wonder why we often feel alone or lonely? There is not one other person who knows exactly how you feel unless you share it with them.

Your life is distinctive.

Life does not go as planned. Marriage, kids, career, money rarely follows our expectation of them. Some things turn out better that you imagined. Some things unfurl themselves into your deepest nightmare. And yet, through it all – it is life.

You are alive.

This is your life.
Take responsibility for it.
No one can live your life for you.

Don’t be impressed with yourself or compare yourself to others.

Both are short roads to misery and selfishness. They are a sure way circumvent creativity as they pull your eyes from God and focus soley on yourself.

Leave the judgements at the door.

Don’t worry about what others are living, saying, doing. Do the best with your life and let God deal with the rest.

God has given you gifts to deal specifically with your life and He has given you permission to use them.

Use them.

What does your creative best look like?
