You can’t know God’s will by looking from the world’s perspective.

You must unplug from it.

God’s will, His good, pleasing and perfect will for you isn’t difficult but it is very different.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Godʼs will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

How do you unplug from the world?

Don’t look at your phone first thing in the morning.

Take the first thirty minutes of your day connecting with God instead of being distracted by text messages, emails, or news.

Unplug from the world and plug into the presence of God.

It is a wonderful way to start your day.

Clean Your Connection Point

One day when my son was about 11 years old, he came into our bedroom with his shoulders slumped and said, “The charger is broken- it won’t charge the laptop and it just died”,

My husband went out to the living room and brought the laptop into our bedroom. He checked all the connections on the cord to see if it had been broken from the outside. It looked fine, so he assumed that it must be broken on the inside where we couldn’t see it.

I leaned over and said, “So what is the problem?”

“I don’t know,” he replied, “but it is not working.”

“Great”, I humphed.

A few minutes later, I noticed that he had put the laptop down and didn’t seem too worried about it.

“Did you fix it?” I asked.

“Oh, yea I did”, he said. “The connection just needed to be cleaned. It was just dirty. After I cleaned it, it connected just fine and now it is charging.”

That was it. It was that simple.

On our way to church this weekend, Justin’s phone wouldn’t charge…for the same reason. After Bobby cleaned it out, it worked fine.

Your connection point to God is your heart.

It is the place where the power of God fills you and the grace of God heals you.  It gets dirty from the wear and tear of life, clogged from bits of small lies believed or big judgments perceived.

It needs to be cleaned often.

Forgiveness asked for and given.

Mercy asked for and given.

Tough love asked for and given.

When life seems like it’s just not working right, check your connection point to God and ask Him to clean it.

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139:23-24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It is amazing what a difference it makes when your heart is clear and your connection with God is restored to full power.

How is your heart?

Lose Your Limitations

Today I want to challenge you to break through the self-imposed limitations you have placed on yourself.

Don’t settle into a place of complacency or sink under the dark cloud of “things will never change”. Neither are from God. In fact, Jesus came to transform how you think and challenge how you see yourself and your future.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus came to give you direct access to a divine perspective founded in unrelenting love and sealed by unbelievable sacrifice.

When you connect to God through Christ, every accepted limitation you have in your life is challenged.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It starts in the mind. God wants to change the way you think.

He wants to challenge your accepted life patterns and limiting thought patterns.

When Jesus challenges how you think, He is challenging how you trust.

He is asking you to follow him into a new place, new ways and a new future that is beyond your capability to comprehend.

What limitation is God challenging you to bust through?

What thought patterns are you living with that are not from God?

What is God asking you to trust Him with today?

Be brave, lose the limitations.

The Privilege

Your most luxurious and underused privilege is prayer.

It is mysterious and yet instinctively natural. When there is no where else to turn, your heart reaches up.

But you can easily miss the real power of it.

The real advantage of being able to pray to a present God.

One who has pierced time and eternity to hear you, to listen to all your words.

It doesn’t matter how long or how many words you use. What matters is that you are connecting to your Creator and all that it aligns when you do.

When you pray today know that your God is waiting, bending down and ready to listen to you.

“Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath.” (Psalms 116:2 NLT)
