“Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters! And because we’re his, we can access everything our Father has—for we are heirs because of what God has done!”

Galatians 4:4-7, The Passion Translation

The wonder of God’s all encompassing love.

He made the way.

Through death.

To break sin.

To redeem us to Himself.

To live as sons and daughters of the house, not slaves to it.

Free to say yes.

Free to say no.

Free to let Him love us and show us how to live as sons and daughters.

To have full access to all He is and all He has.

How can we possibly comprehend this?

How do we learn to live in the truth of it?

One step at a time.

One day at a time.

Let Him love you as much as you can stand.

Let Him lead you into freedom as far as you can go.

Rest in His grace as much as possible.

And try to remember that you are forgiven for all the missteps on the way.

You are His child.

He will not give up on you.

Down to the Details

“Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.” Colossians 3:17, The Message Version

It’s the small things.

The little moments of mundaneness.

Little packages of wonder filled with gratefulness that come to us through what Jesus has done for us.

He brought the good news of heaven into lives of all who live on earth: you are loved, precious, valuable and through His sacrifice for you, reconciled to God.

That means that you can do a cannonball into the ocean of God’s love for you every day, in every way, down to the details of your life.

Dive in deep into His all encompassing love for you and allow this great love to drench what you say, what you do and overflow onto others.

Christmas Eve, 2020

It’s Christmas Eve, 2020.

The world looks so different this year than it did last year and no matter what your Christmas Eve happens to be, my prayer for you is that you will celebrate the deep joy of being a redeemed child of God with full access to His presence.

I am so thankful that God’s presence is not limited to a location, a time or a place.

He is not limited by anything and nothing can separate you from Him.

“So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!”

Romans 8:38-39 TPT

The great orator of a century past, Charles Spurgeon, says it well, “Let gladness rule the hour” as we celebrate the great gift of the Savior born in a manger tonight:

We esteem every day alike, but still, as the season suggests thoughts of Jesus, let us joyfully remember our dear Redeemer’s glorious birth. Who but He was ever longed for by such a multitude of hearts? When did angels indulge in midnight songs, or did God hang a new star in the sky? To whose, cradle did rich and poor make so willing a pilgrimage, and offer such hearty and unsought oblations? Well, may earth rejoice; well may all men cease their labor to celebrate “the great birthday” of Jesus. Let gladness rule the hour; let the holy song and sweet heart music accompany our soul in the raptures of joy.

– Charles Spurgeon

It is Christmas Eve.

May the wonder of it fill your soul.

You Are

img_2837-1
“I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ.”
‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬
When you have trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior:
You are called.
You are loved.
You are cared for.
You don’t have to strive to take care of “number one” or stress to win the approval of others.
Jesus will walk with you, guide you and bring you back when you wander off.
Accept God’s invitation to live as a cherished child today.
Live loved right now.
Let Jesus take care of you.
May your relationship with Jesus be like the eye of a storm where the uncertainty of this season will swirl around you as the peace of God which passes all understanding guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
How are you living in the invitation of God?
How are you receiving His love?
Are you living like you are cared for or like you have to take care of yourself?

Unlimited Resources

“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit.”
Ephesians 3:16 NLT
God has unlimited (and glorious) resources so you can be sure that whatever you are facing, God can and will provide what you need today.

Strength to love, to walk, to work, to hold on to hope and let go of fear.

Not by your strength but by God’s.

To be strengthened not from your limited resources, but from God’s unlimited ones.

Not to “look strong” on the outside to others but to “be strong” on the inside through Jesus.
Receive Him.
Rest in Him.
Walk in His strength today.
You are going to make it.

Not Normal

“But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I want to remind you that there is no such thing as “normal”.

Life does not move in simple horizontal lines, plotting along connecting dots.

We are not given a coloring page per season of life and asked to simply color inside the lines.

Life happens…death happens. Circumstances arise that are far out of your control but with Jesus, you are created to deal with the reality.

You are empowered to fill the need presented to you with all the gifts and grace God has given to you.

You are made to live your life to the fullest.

You are a child of God who has been made to rise to the occasion. To deal with the reality. You have been empowered to fill the need presented to you with all the gifts and grace God has given to you.

“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn” – Harriet Beecher Stowe

Don’t worry about defining yourself within your culture. Don’t limit yourself by trying to find a place to fit. Do all that you are called to do, all that you are called to be, in the season you find yourself in, with the tools that you have in your hands.

With bold and strong colors – fill in the lines of your season then draw outside of them. Live outside of the lines of other’s expectations. Your voice matters. What you are doing is important. Your input is vital and needed.

Quit trying to be normal and live boldly in faith today.

Belonging Behavior

It’s different when you know you belong.

You know what to do, who to talk to and what is “the norm”.

“Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit.” (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭24-25‬ NET)

Don’t let the enemy deceive you into believing are still a slave to your flesh and subject to it’s every whim.

You are not a slave to your flesh, you are child of God.

Loved, provided for and empowered to live your life in and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You belong to Christ- start behaving like it.
