Challenge & Change

God will use today’s challenges to give you the skills you need for tomorrow’s assignment.

Look to Jesus to guide you through it and help you navigate all the way to the other side of it. Don’t give up halfway through. Storms do not last forever but the lessons you could learn from them will.

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:2-4‬ ‭MSG‬‬

It doesn’t matter where it’s coming from, God will use It to get you going in the right direction.

God will use whatever opposition is coming at you as an opportunity to grow your faith and character.

Let Him.

What is God using your current challenge to develop in you?

Limitations

The-only-limitations-you-will-ever-have-are-the-ones-you-put-on-yourself

Today I want to challenge you to break through the self-imposed limitations you have placed on yourself.

Don’t settle into a place of complacency or sink under the dark cloud of “things will never change”. Neither are from God. In fact, Jesus came to transform how you think and challenge how you see yourself and your future.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus came to give you direct access to a divine perspective founded in unrelenting love and sealed by unbelievable sacrifice.

When you connect to God through Christ, every accepted limitation you have in your life is challenged.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It starts in the mind. God wants to change the way you think.

He wants to challenge your accepted life patterns and limiting thought patterns.

When Jesus challenges how you think, He is challenging how you trust.

He is asking you to follow him into a new place, new ways and a new future that is beyond your capability to comprehend.

What limitation is God challengingyou to bust through?

What thought patterns are you living with that are not from God?

What is God asking you to trust Him with today?

Be brave, lose the limitations.

Called to Climb

positive-quotes-nothing-worth-having-comes-easy-via-thinkpozitive-com

“When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him.”

Matthew 5:1-2 MSG

Sometimes Jesus calls you to climb with Him.
He draws you away from the noise of the crowds to a quiet place where He can speak to you.
It is a place that you can hear Him clearly with no distractions.
Some mistake these times for loneliness when really God is trying to get your attention.
He wants to show you something.
I don’t love hiking (a.k.a. climbing a mountain) but I know this:
• It forces me out of my comfort zone
• I get to see things I have never seen before
• It causes muscles to form that I never knew existed
• My breathing capacity is expanded and heart is strengthened
Jesus loved crowds. He taught them, healed them and fed them. But the teaching He was about to give was not for the crowds, it was for the climbers.
When Jesus calls you to climb with Him, you can bet that it is for your benefit.
You can also bet that it isn’t going to be easy.
Nothing worth having comes easy.
When Jesus calls you to climb higher it is to make you stronger.
If you are feeling lost in the crowd, maybe it is because you don’t belong there.
You belong to Jesus and He is calling you higher.
What you learn climbing the mountain with Jesus changes your life in the valley.
What mountain is Jesus calling you to climb with Him today?

For joy.

For the restoration of mankind to God.

For the intimate relationship with you.

That is why Jesus went to the cross.

“Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭MSG

He began and finished this race – this faith journey of trusting God while dealing with the reality of a broken life in a broken world.

Jesus entered this brokenness, was broken in it and then rose again to offer hope and wholeness to the world. He didn’t lose sight of God’s future, He focused on it. He focused on you.

Jesus knew that going to the cross would restore mankind to a right relationship with God. He is your Advocate, He sees your future and has the authority to give you what you need to get to it.

When you are overwhelmed and the difficulty before you begins to weigh you down – fix your eyes on Jesus.

He went through the unimaginable so that He could get you through the impossible. You were His reason so He could be yours.

Stay

If where you are is boring, stay there.

If where you are is overwhelming, stay there.

If where you are is fun, stay there.

If where you are is challenging, stay there.

Stay where God has called you to be.

He will give you strength to stand the monotony, wisdom to navigate the stress, clarity to get the most out of the fun and vision to conquer the challenge.

“Friends, stay where you were called to be. God is there. Hold the high ground with him at your side.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬ MSG

Look to God for your identity, your purpose and the strength to live it out.

Hold the high ground.
Stay where you are.

You Can Do All Things…

large

…through Him who gives you strength.

Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. GOD, your God, is with you every step you take.”
Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭1-9‬ MSG

You may be at a crossroads today.

You may be tired and worn out.

Maybe a bit discouraged and overwhelmed.

You know that the task before you is too big for you to do on your own.

God knows this too.

He doesn’t intend for you to do it on your own or by yourself.

He intends for you to move forward with Him.

To face the impossible challenge with Him.

To take the promised land back from the enemy and learn to live in it with Him.

So when you  are at this crossroad wondering if you should keep going forward or if you even have the strength to, hear these words from your Father in heaven:

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ NIV

Should you move forward?

Yes
.

Can you?

Yes
.

Why?

Because you can do all things through Him who strengthens you.
