Why You Are Here

Why are you here?

Not to collect more things.

Not to become an expert.

Not to be happy all the time.

Not to look good all the time.

Not to feel good all the time.

Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God.

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:14 ‭MSG‬‬

You are here to be a light.

A witness.

A glimpse of grace living.

A glimpse of God living through you.

A breath of fresh love-laced air in the sin-stained world.

That is why you are here.

Don’t get so caught up in yourself or in your present circumstances that you miss your God-empowered purpose for today:

My prayer for you is that you are so filled with the Light of Christ that it spills out of you in every way possible, to every person you meet, in every moment of darkness or discouragement or overwhelming circumstance, in spite of the current crisis, through the present obstacle. May the Light of His Love be uncontainable and contagious through you today.

Take Part In It

It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:12‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God’s plan is that you would be an active participator in your life, not just a passive spectator to it. That you would take part in everything bright and beautiful he has for you today.

God has inlaid gifts of joy and moments of wonder into even in the most mundane and tedious of things.

As a believer, you are a carrier of God’s presence and bring him into every interaction or obligation you encounter.

In Christ, you are the change maker and attitude shifter as you invite the Holy Spirit to move and transform duty into delight and drudgery into little altars of thanksgiving.

No matter what today holds, God will give you what you need to discover and enjoy everything bright and beautiful that he has planned for it.

You may say, “there is nothing bright or beautiful here” but I beg to differ. You may not see it, but God does. Not because the day has it within itself but because God has it within himself.

His presence alone can bring glory to the most ordinary tasks and an awareness of the beauty of life into the dullest of days.

My prayer is that the eyes of your heart would be open to see it.

That you would draw your strength directly from Jesus and his Word.

That his glorious power would infuse you with the spiritual vision to see all the God ordained opportunities of surprise joy and tender mercies he has for you.

And that you would fully take part in it.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
