Go for it

Monday2-1

“ And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

My friend, throw off everything that is holding you back today and go for everything God is calling you to do.

You are graced to run your race (not your neighbor’s race or your sister’s race or your boss’s race – your race).

Run it with perseverance.

Don’t quit.

When you get tired, rest.

But don’t stop.

Begin again.

Get back on track and run your race until it’s over.

Anew

“I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:7-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Baptism.
Full immersion.
Cleansing.
Repentance.

A sign of death and resurrection.
Dying to the old, raised to the new.

A dividing point.
A declaration of choice.
A celebration of new life.

A rebirth.
A new vision.
A new power to live by, with, in.

Water is the symbol.
The Holy Spirit is the indweller.

Water is the symbolism of being washed clean. The Holy Spirit is the being who does the work of washing you clean.

With water, you are surrounded,
Immersed in it.

With the Holy Spirit, He is surrounded and immersed in you.

Not a small difference.

“Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.</b”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Are you allowing the Spirit to do the work in you that only He can do?

Or

Are you trying to do the work yourself?

Take a deep breath and surrender anew.

Restored

“He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.” (‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭21-24‬ MSG)

Being right with God isn’t the hard part.

The hard part is learning how to live it.

How to live whole and treasured.

How to live trusting and trusted.

How to live nurtured and nourished.

It takes time and perseverance.

God provides the time, we provide the perseverance.

Don’t give up. Everyday you are learning how to live it. Begin again.

“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ NIV)
