New You

2_corinthians_5_17----dupe--close-800x800
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”   2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
What does God do in you through Christ?
He creates “new” in you:
A new mentality.
A new habit.
A new hope.
A new attitude.
A new love.
A new life.
God is presently re-creating you today.
You can confidently let go of “what-ifs” and embrace the possibilities with Jesus of “what is”.
That doesn’t mean you’re perfect but that you are present and open to living new, now.
You are made new in Christ.
May you live fully in Christ today and discover the wonder of the new things He wants to do.
Are you caught in the doldrums of “what ifs”?
What “new” does God want to do in you?

How You See

img_8511.jpg
How you see the world around you impacts how you interact with it.
Perspective is powerful.
Perspective impacts everything you do.
It impacts your attitude, your thought life, how you see others and how you see yourself.
Jesus talked a lot about seeing your life from God’s perspective.
He said,
“Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. If you pull the blinds on your windows, what a dark life you will have!”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:22-23‬ ‭MSG‬‬
When you live your life from heaven’s perspective and look to Jesus, you will be filled with hope and vision.
When you live your life from earth’s viewpoint and look to those around you, you will be filled with disappointment and dissatisfaction.
Jesus came to earth to unleash heaven’s light on earth. He came for you so that your spirit, soul, and body can be filled with the uncontainable light of His love.
What perspective are you viewing your life from?
How can I pray for you?

Your Why

DRWgpQHW4AArA0i
Your motives are the “why” behind the “what” of your life.
When you are soul drained, the simplest tasks can begin to feel like heavy burdens.  You slip into autopilot and just go through the motions.  Your “why” is to survive, to make it through one more day.
Survival is a good “why” to make it through hard things but it is not meant to be your permanent state of being.
God has more for you today.
He is the God of inside workings, attitude makeovers, perspective shifters. He is the forgiving God, the wipe the slate clean and start over God. He is the miracle-making God, creating something out of nothing God with just one word from His mouth.
Your Heavenly Father created you in love, to love and to be loved. God so loved you that He sent His Son as a sacrifice to restore you to Himself.  He did not do it out of duty, He did it out of love. He does not live out of duty but out of love and wants the same for you.
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NIV
When your why comes from love it feeds your spirit and invigorates your soul. Duty devoid of it drains it.
May the God of the inside workings give your attitude a makeover from duty doer to lit up lover.  May the forgiving God wipe clean the slate of the past and help you start over today.  May the miracle-making God, create something out of nothing and fill you so full of His love that it overflows onto those around you.
Are you living in survival mode or love mode?
What’s your why today?

The very best way to change your attitude is by reminding yourself who God is and who you are in Christ.

When the world crowds in on you and makes you feel claustrophobic with all the “things needed ASAP”, it is good to take a moment to chill out and remember that God is good and has been good to you.

It resets your perspective and returns your internal state from “fret” to “rest”.

Unwind your worry.

Reset your soul.

God has called you to be a change maker where you are.

He will give you everything you need to do it including reminding you to get out of the way.
