Answers and How To Get Them

img_7129

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

Psalm‬ ‭25‬:‭9‬ NIV

If you need clarity and direction from God today, begin by cutting your pride off at the knees. Pride will make you blind to see where God wants to lead you.

Remind yourself who is the Lord of your life (and that it isn’t you).

How you live your life is more important to God than where you go.

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ NKJV

Need direction? Need answers?

1. Do what is right.

2. Let mercy be your standard in all interactions.

3. Walk humbly with Jesus.

There you go, my friend… it really is that simple.

Have a great weekend.

Quiet Words

“The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes ‬ ‭9:17 NIV‬

If you are looking for good advice, ask the quiet person you respect.

Ask the one who knows you and knows Jesus.

Ask the one who doesn’t offer their opinion at every opportunity but rather waits for permission to speak into your life.

Ask the questions you need answers to. If they are wise, they are safe. Seek them out.

If they are loud, manipulative, believe they are always right and get mad when you don’t do what they say…avoid them.

Don’t let fear stop you from getting the guidance you need.

You are worth it.

What do you need wisdom for today?

Who has God put in your path to help you?

Knowing

You want to know everything.

You want to know what happened, what is happening, what will happen.

You want to know why, how and for how long?

You want to know because you think that knowing will give you peace.

But it won’t.

We have created colleges and courses, Google and Wikipedia to answer questions and to question answers and none of it give us peace.

Peace doesn’t come from knowing all the answers, it comes from knowing the all powerful God.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In Christ you are known fully and fully equipped to know God.

You won’t always get the answers you want to have when you want to have them but in Christ you will always have access to God.

No God, No Peace.
Know God, Know Peace.

Someday

IMG_0189.JPG

Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.” (‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭7‬ NLT)

We want to understand everything.

We want to know what happened, what is happening, what will happen.

We want to know why, how and for how long?

We have created colleges and courses, Google and Wikipedia to answer questions and understand more.

You can’t google: “why isn’t this happening to me?” Or “why are You doing this?” and get answers. You will only get opinions and guesses.

Because each person is unique and every situation different, God does not give you a “one size fits all” answer.

Sometimes He will simply say to you, like He did to Peter, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”

Someday you will understand, but not today.

Until then, be faithful, trust God and be obedient to what He is asking you to do.

Until then, His grace will be enough to get you to someday.

Questions

You have questions,
God has answers.

You have been commissioned to go and your first question is, “where?

For most the answer is “right where you are”.

(If that isn’t the right answer for you, you already know where and just need to obey.)

For those who are not sure, follow the directions given to the disciples.

Begin where you are:
Your home,
Your neighborhood,
Your school,
Your job…

Your community,
Your city,
Your country,
The world.

God has equipped you “to go” right where you are.

We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. (Proverbs 16:1 NLT)

Make a plan, pray about it, and dream about it. Ask God for open eyes and open hearts and most of all open opportunities.

Make a plan and ask God lots of questions: who, what, where, when, how?

Then let him answer, one person at a time.

You have questions,
God has the right answers for the right people at the right time.

Your biggest job in the great commission is to be available.

Who is first?

Pray

It was a desperate prayer murmured from hurting lips, “Jesus, help me”.

It was a tear-filled prayer sobbed from a broken heart, “Jesus, help me”.

It was a violent prayer ripped from the angry soul unable to hold back the venom of hatred pouring out, “Jesus, help me.”

It was a silent prayer offered with no hope of an answer, “Jesus, help me”.

“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.” (Psalms 34:4 NLT)

God answers every prayer.
Not always in the way we want Him to.
Not always in the way we expect Him to.
Not always as fast as we think He should,
but He always answers.

His answers are framed in a cross,
steeped in the sacrifice of His beloved son,
saturated in His grace.

When I pray, I know God answers.
Not because I demand it, claim it or even need it.

He answers because He is sovereign,
because He is good,
because He chose to be in relationship with you.

If you are worth the sacrifice of His Son, why do you doubt that you are worth an answer?

You are loved.
Pray, however you must.
Let go of control and trust Him.
