Even This Can Be Worship

“Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God.” Romans 14:6 (NIV)

Most of our lives happen in ordinary moments.
We prepare meals.
Answer messages.
Fold laundry.
Sit in traffic.
Show up for work and care for the people we love.

It can be easy to think our relationship with God happens somewhere outside all of that, in the quiet morning, at church, or when we open our Bibles. But Paul describes something as ordinary as eating a meal as something that can be done “to the Lord.”

The believers in Rome did not all make the same choices about food. Yet those who ate meat and those who abstained could both honor God and give Him thanks for whatever was before them.

That gives us a beautiful question to carry into our day: “Lord, how can I honor You right here?”

Perhaps with gratitude for the meal.
Patience in the conversation.
Integrity in the task.
Love for the person in front of you.

Every ordinary moment can become an offering of love.
Every ordinary moment can be worship.

Lord Jesus, help me remember You in the middle of my day. Teach me to receive Your gifts with gratitude and offer my everyday choices to You with love. In Your Powerful Name, Amen.
